... in just about every way.
It fixes the gas issue with the gun, particularly when shooting suppressed. User adjustable. It removes the stupid buffer tube design with a giant spring which incredibly limits the portability of the gun. It allows for quick change barrels and hand guards for easier end user configuration. Higher rail height, even taller than an MCX, which gets the optics higher, which is more in line with modern shooting technique. It comes in a caliber that isn't a glorified varmint cartridge. It is superior at long range, versus the outdated design of the 5.56 cartridge. It's Tanodized, which is the superior method of anodization. It has traditional and side charging handles. It has improved user controls, including ambidextrous mag catch and bolt hold-open/release. Designed to work with modern slings out of the box. Increased service life dramatically by the end users ability to replace high wear components, engineered with materials designed to last far longer The real question is, why haven't you accepted SIG Sauer USA as your lord and savior yet?

Nonsense. Sig doesn’t support the firearms they produce and drops them and all support with a quickness. I can buy standard AR parts anywhere and everywhere.

Dunno about comparing the two, they’re pretty different rifles, but the MCX Spear sure seems like a pretty cool setup. I’ll wait a few years when used .308’s are on the market vs paying 20k for a new one in .277 Unobtanium, but more power to whoever wants to spend their money on such.

I do like the looks of those. If they were maybe in the 3k range for just the gun, I'd prob go for it. Until then, I'll stick with my poor man's Spear, the Rattler.

Sig isnt some savior. While their designs are great in concept, they usually proceed to over promise and under deliver. Like all the easy caliber conversions for the MPX. Then creating two Gen versions of the MPX rapidly. Or rushing a product out to try to get contracts then having major issues when their beta testers on the open market run into things.
And just to throw it out there, I have a MPX and its been a great gun for me. But I'm not blind to the things that Sig does that annoy the hell out of me. |

A proprietary system, that SIG will discontinue 2 years from now and make spare parts IMPOSSIBLE to find is NOT an improvement on a AR10 system that Larue, LMT, KAC and others have mastered. |
