Licorice was my favorite ice cream flavor as a kid in the '60s and '70s
Witches' Brew or Tiger Tiger was a variation consisting of orange and licorice swirl. Good stuff. No one makes it now. Or lawn darts. And the world is poorer for it. |

When I was a kid, the best ice cream was when we helped make it at grandpa's. The old crank with chipped ice and salt. As a bonus, if we sat on the huge ice block for a certain amount of time, we were not only allowed to help crank but got some firecrackers. Of course, chocolate.

Personal favorite is Neapolitan, because I'm indecisive. However, I don't like chunks of frozen strawberries in my strawberry ice cream, so I generally only like cheap Neapolitan.
