Tom Cruise has been miscast in several roles. I’d say he was far worse in both Rock of Ages (a musical of all things) and Interview With a Vampire.

Alan Ritchson as Reacher in the TV series was an even worse choice as Jack Reacher. Cruise wasn’t the best choice but at least he gave the character a personality. Ritchson’s version of Reacher comes across as a meat head with no personality.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was offered the role of Gen. Hummel in The Rock. He turned it down.

Would have made for a weirder movie than it already was. An American General with a thick Austrian accent?

Why? Because he didn’t match the description in the book?

Let me let you in on something that is not a secret. 97% of the people that saw the movie probably didn’t even know there was a book.

Cruise did a good job in the movie, and it did pretty well at the box office.

It would have probably made less money if they would have found somebody that matched the description from the book.

I generally agree about Tarantino's acting, but it fit the bill for the sociopath he played in FDTD.

If they had just let Mickey Rooney be Mickey Rooney the Landlord, he would have upstaged everyone else in that movie.
I think that role may have wrecked his career.
