Real H&K MP5s were $3300.
Microwaves were a newish thing. Car phones. Cell phones came in a shoulder bag. Phone booths. 3 TV channels. Glock standard capacity mags were going for $75 - $140. Manual crank windows. Hood release was under the hood. 4 speed manual transmissions. Cars without rear defrost. Minivans were toasters on wheels. Porsche starting to make SUVs was sacrilegious. |

I'm only 52 so I don't know if I classify as an old timer yet, but I'm going with replacing your phone cords with super long ones so you could talk on the phone while across the room or pick the whole phone up and go into the nearest room.

Most reminiscing has mostly been of High School age and beyond
I saw This Movie while it was in its First Run. Talk about prices: An issue of Sgt Rock and Easy Company was 12¢ When we moved to NYC the Subway Token was 15¢ There was a bridge on the NJ/PA highway (I forget its number) whose toll was 10¢ A box of .22 rimfire cost a penny a round. |

I grew up in Detroit so....before they changed the recipe it was good.
Back in the 70s you could take a tour of the Stroh's Brewery in Detroit; free beer at the end. Must have taken that tour 20 times. Same with the Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor.   |

1964.
We had moved to NYC in 1963. I got to see the Mets play in the Polo Grounds. Twice. Lost the first time,  , won a Double-Header the next time around.I was thoroughly a Mets fan after that Sunday afternoon. To the World Series of 1964: The entire school body went to the auditorium to watch Game 7 of the World Series. A senior teacher said, before the Sole TV (B&W) in the Entire School Was Turned on, Well, it is an important game. I might have been the only student that enjoyed watching the Cardinals beat the Yankees.  The Color TV I have in my bedroom today has a larger screen than what a couple hundred kiddies watched a B&W TV back then. |

Rusty Jones "Hello Rusty Jones,goodbye rust" They drilled holes in your cars panels and sprayed bituminous paint/tar in the fenders. The bell going ding ding after running over an air line at the service station letting the attendant know you pulled up. Old nipple caps plugging up gas lines on the wall where gaslights used to be. I'm sure someone mentioned the tiny triangle vent windows on old cars. Someone posted an ink bottle pic, I remember the holes in kids school desks for them. Lots of Chicago but has many old national chains that went away. |

For the "Craft" project I picked leather, normally if you picked that it was a few wallets or a book binder. I made a leather rifle case, I carried my .22 rifle to school to custom fit it. |
