The unwillingness to work towards your goals and the instant gratification culture. They love the highways but don’t understand the work it took to make them. They live the end result and think it was free to get. They see home prices inflated to the point that they know they will likely not be able to afford one. They will embrace the handout because they won’t do it on their own even if the path was paved for them. Also… some are just fucking lazy ass shit heads. You have those in every generation.

I’m center left, but I know some quite hardcore lefties.
They grew up with Bush 2 and the ME wars. They saw 2008 and the free check written too big banks while average Americans were left out to hang. Most of them are deep in student loan debt, cannot even dream of buying a place of their own, and even with big paychecks can’t seem to get ahead. Universal to everyone I know my age, even the more libertarian types, they all despise Trump and see him emblematic of all the above. |

Because the left has a thin veneer of being fair or sticking up for the oppressed through the excitement of idealism activism(when in actuality they are just pawns in oppressing people with centralized power). Couple that with kids today are usually filled with no purpose and the left gives them some purpose for the worst. The right has a higher path: you have the freedom to find your own purpose in life, freedom must be protected, it revolves around the Golden rule as a guide post, and most of the time they are brought up in a Christian home with a sense of self/morals to impact individualism and the world in a healthier way devoid of leftist authoritarianism.

Im 35.
The biggest thing I've noticed with most of the people i know my age is entitlement. I came out of college and went to a job site jack hammering floors for years and years before I made it to where I am. They came out of college and tried to find something in an office, because that's where they thought they were supposed to go. Then they stagnate there and they get pissed off they don't have the corner office and everything that comes with it. I mainly blame their parents for putting those visions into their head to begin with. After they languish in a soulless office setting for 10 years, suddenly everything is unfair. |

Because it's a compelling lie as long as there's nobody around to talk about the historical reality. Live well without having to try hard, everything is fair and your resentment of people that worked harder and have more is resolved by "equity". Someone else pays, workers are the bosses, and so on. Nobody seems to realize that the bosses are the ones in central planning. I've met a couple of people who have protested with Antifa and they didn't even realize what the flags meant, the red and black, and that the organization is anarcho-communist. Even that's absurd - anarcho-communism. No rules totalitarianism...wat?
It only takes a generation for the lessons of recent history to be forgotten. I grew up during the cold war and saw the ravages of communism, but people in their twenties and thirties have actually suggested to me that what I tell them about those days is a made up bullshit. "Nobody really thought there would be a nuclear war", "no, there were never duck and cover drills in schools", "People in the Soviet Union weren't going hungry like they do in the US", etc. Teachers run this country, and what they lie about and what they exclude is what the next generation will believe. The real ultimate cause of the problem is that people are lazy. |

Today we're ensconced behind generations of programing social conditioning, and we've become dysfunctional. Most parents are blind to how toxic public schools and pop culture are, or are conditioned to do nothing about it. Even with the recent surge in homeschooling only tiny percentage of the public is defending their children from the system that will indisputably mold them into terrible adult. Young people are not blindly following wicket and unintelligent people, we turn them over to those people to be programed. Even on this site the majority of parents will send their kids to 12 years of government school, them collage, even thought they we know exactly what type of people they'll become. |
