I was at one of his very last shows, less than a month before he died. He was saying goodbye... nothing was accidental, he killed himself.
I even told my wife that the whole show sounded like a suicide note... a positive one, but it was obiviois he was done living. |

And two benzodiazepines to boot. Benzo + opiate = high risk of death, especially in someone with already compromised respiratory system. (The article mentions emphysema)

Easy enough to doctor shop and get a bunch of crazy shit, especially when you have cash.

If you're intentionally doing drugs, frequently & repeatedly, then I'm not sure how it's really an accident.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, and all that. |

I've got the Mandela Effect like a motherfucker; I could swear that he checked out a couple of years ago. |

He was talking about his life and career and band mates as though it was past tense... like he was already gone. It was all very positive and one of the best shows I’ve ever seen... But he spent at least 5 minutes per band member explaining his relationship with them, how they met, etc... they were the words of a very appreciative, dying man who had nothing else to prove. I’ll cherish that show forever as I knew it was his goodbye. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'm not a doctor, so I'll ask you - is this something doctors should be really thinking carefully about? As in, should this prescribed combo be extremely rare to non-existent? |

The entertainment industry has culture of recreational drug use and I am not surprised that many died because of direct or indirect drug usage. Unfortunate.

Tom's autopsy report shows the singer was on several pain meds, including Fentanyl patches, oxycodone, temazepam, alprazolam, citalopram, acetylfentanyl and despropionyl fentanyl. The reason doctors prescribed the meds was because of a number of medical problems, including emphysema, knee problems and a fractured hip. Opiates strike again View Quote |

@NavyDoc1 This is something I've learned over the past year or so. That combo right there is what seems to kill most people - not the prescription opiates alone. It seems like just about every time you really look into it, they're also taking prescribed benzos. Really sad. Wow, I only know what one of those are. Does that mean I had a lame childhood? |

Quoted: It’s a serious combination as they together cause synergistic respiratory depression and apnea. Docs should be really cautious and, IMHO benzodiazepines should not be prescribed regularly for outpatients. The typical diagnosis is for “anxiety.” There are better treatments for that than a highly addictive and dangerous drug TID. View Quote |
