I don't see how doing a special "thank you" discount for GWOT vets, on a piece of kit they used daily during their service is snubbing the service of other vets from earlier eras. I wouldn't be upset in the least if a special discounted M-1 Garand was offered at a discounted price for WWII and Korean vets. Or a M16A1 clone was offered to Vietnam vets. All service is honorable and I hold my brother veterans of all eras in the highest regard. |

I went gold on rifle and MG though. Ours was retarded. We shot our M4s, M9 and the 240, but to the German standards. Then a SGM from the Bundeswhehr signed off on the certificates. My battalion hosted it and it was a shit show. 2nd. I was attached to them during NIE. |

I am glad to see a company like Trijicon honoring "ANY" veterans. It would have been nice for all of us prior to get this discount. But I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Can you imagine the cost to Trijicon if every swinging dick that every served in the military got a huge discount? Yes, they make money off of their product but so does a hundred other companies that don't do jack shit for veterans, ever! Congratulation, post 9-11 vets. You earned it! My job was to T&E new weapons and equipment that the Army was interested in, so I got to shoot and use some pretty cool stuff that most 11Bs never get to.

I can't speak to the Army or Marines side of procurement, but getting a bunch of AD or even recent vets on their side won't hurt Trijicon when it comes to units picking their optics. Probably a smart business move in addition to a cool thing. I'm sure a supply type will be along to speak more intelligently about it.
