Apples and oranges. With a few exceptions those sale items were odd ball models with niche market reticles. But I still enjoyed watching the neckbeards scrambling to buy .50 BMG ACOGs meant for machineguns or TA31s with pink triangle reticles in 6.5x52mm Carcano. It was even funnier to watch them try to sell them in the EE 30 seconds later.

Did you see the Amazon thread?      People were buying 50 BMG Acogs for $800, because list price was ~$1800
Sorry, but that stuff is interesting to me.

I would think pink would stand out great against all backgrounds. I'm in.

To anyone bitching about this post, it's no different from this bullshit on the first page.  A bunch of bitches all of you.  Qualify for the discount, use it if you want.  Don't qualify, STFU.  Life ain't fair and if you think dudes that joined one day or another day are any different from anyone else, you're pretty fucking insulated and naive.

Did you voluntarily raise your right hand during a time of war(s)?

That's probably the biggest difference between GWOT-era vets and most others.

Fought to the death in a mud pit with a sharpened masonry trowel and a piss-soaked rag stuffed in my mouth.

the TA33 is probably the best ACOG a guy can buy for his AR. The other models might have more magnification or the extra 200 meters shown on the BDC to take you out to 800, but in terms of speed, light weight, eye relief and cost, the TA33 has them beat.

I've had mine since around 2006. They only offered one reticle color at the time, these days I would go for the TA33-GH which has a green horse shoe.

is that a good choice? the reticle seems good for close up and out to a few hundred meters

I really liked my ta33, it was amber chevron.  Worked well, I gave it to my dad since he loved it, and it worked well for his aging eyesight

After 13 years of combat, Trijicon thanks all
of you for your service and sacrifice. You have
trusted our optics in combat, now we’d like to

Looking at their flyer, it's almost like there's a reason they're specifically offering this deal to recent veterans, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Man, I'm convinced that most of GD is made up of FSA. "You mean this company is giving current veterans a discount? Fuck them!" Give me a damn break. You guys are probably the dudes that ask to speak to a manager and start screaming  because you don't get a discount and a blow job at Walmart because you're a vet.

ETA: yes, I ask if places offer a mil discount because hey, we're all human and work for a living.  But I don't get pissed off when they don't.

i  couldn't tell if you were serious or not so i will give my input. as a gwot veteran i used acog optics in combat. i know how they hold up to the worst conditions. if i was ever in charge of selecting equipment for a police force or military unit, i would only select acog optics. i think they know this. they want lots of veterans at the gun range with acogs. they want that word of mouth for new shooter sales.

I used to frequent this car forum.  Was an active member for like ten years.

A thread came up about the swtich to the post 9/11 GI bill back in 2008.  I caught an unreal amount of shit from some pre-9/11 vets when I posted about how excited I was for it.  "That wasn't the contract you signed, you shouldn't get it it! blahblahblahblabh"

Edit: goddamn quote limits.

Nice picture there. Oh I was a lurker here for a long time before I joined too.
So you showed your 214.
Now redact what you want, scan and email it in and get a Tank.

You have to realize this is the internet. Anyone can claim anything.
You could really have been a high school kid. Hell we have some on here. And most are in GD. Hence my post to you.

Guess it really tripped your trigger.
I don't do that on purpose to Guys I know are Vets.
If you note I said I was happy you GWOT Vets got the discount. I  ETS'ed a long time before 2001

I own a few ACOG's, want another one also. I'll be able to buy one cheap enough.
You'll not see me bitching about a discount given to any Current Military member, Vet, or LEO.
Well deserved in my opinion!

I privately purchased the ACOG I carried overseas as there weren't very many in the supply line at the time. I sold it to another soldier who was going over who didn't have the choice of having one issued.

I own numerous Trijicon products and this discount will add to my evergrowing stable. That being said, the discount isn't much lower than the last ACOG I bought during a sale.

There are plenty better things to bitch about than a private company offering a discount for a select group of people.
