Really crappy of them to not care about vets that served previous to 9/11 View Quote Obviously the reason they only offer half the discount to veterans of previous eras, is out of sheer spite and disregard to the pre-9/11 veteran's service. Couldn't be as a gesture to end users who actually used their products in combat over the course of the longest war in US history. |

Actually, there was a lot of Vietnam vets that stayed in or even came back and fought in the GWOT -- the oldest person killed in the GWOT was a 60 year old Vietnam veteran, Maj. Steven Hutchison, KIA in Iraq May 14, 2009 -- he went back to active duty after his wife passed away in 2007.
Fucking badass. |

Just to pile on here because I am too fucking lazy to read a 9 page thread...
Has anyone actually compared the Trijicon MSRP less 40% off price with the lowest advertised price on a site like Amazon? I'm not seeing much of a deal if I buy Trijicon MSRP @ 40% off vs. buying it at market price with free shipping, in stock delivery on Amazon. I'd love to see a post where someone bought a TA01NSN ACOG 4x32 for $600 direct from Trijicon with the 40% discount vs. $800 on Amazon or some real shit like that. Why dqfuq didn't Trijicon just offer a 40% manufacturers COUPON that you could use anywhere vs a "Hey 40% off on our MSRP!" Which is like the local Chevy dealing hanging a "SHITTY TRUCK SALE TODAY!" sign out every payday Friday? Derp. |

Last time I checked, service wasn't mandatory. Kinda makes me chuckle when anyone expects a discount period. A discount is a nice gesture, not a requirement for anyone. That being sad, I do appreciate those that served. |

Trijicon introduced the Veterans Blue Star Promotion to thank those veterans we met at various events around the country. We passed a few discount cards out at a couple of shows over the past few months. The program has made its way into social media and we have been inundated with requests to extend the program to veterans at large. We are not prepared to use this program on that scale. So, we will honor the discounts as promised to those people that possess a numbered card presented at an event. We will not extend this program beyond those card holders. However, the overwhelming response has demonstrated the need for a structured promotion for veterans. We will get to work on a program that offers attractive rebates on products purchased through our distribution partners. We appreciate your service and we want to offer a program that honors that service. Please stay tuned to Trijicon.com and check with your local retailing dealers for further details in the months to come. Is there any official word on this beyond a reddit post?
Like, I don't know, something coming from Trijicon themselves? Either way, thanks for your service previous generations of veterans; next time I see a program specifically for you, especially if its say for gear you might have used over a couple tours and extensions in a combat zone, I'll make sure to bitch a whole lot until nobody gets nice things. Oh wait, no I won't because I'm not pedantic or petty and don't freak out when I don't get discounts other people qualify for. |
