Oh for fuck's sakes...OK OK OK! Damnit, I agree. Hardy is actually a good actor. I just hated Venom.
Lawless (2012) - he did a fantastic job there too.

I partied with him and another actor all night at a film festival (we were showcased actors).  He was an awesome dude.  Pretty much just like you would think. What you see is what you get with him

Jason Bateman does a pretty great job of playing a middle age white guy with questionable moral judgement that finds himself in the middle of some sort of chaotic hijinks usually as a result of his own bad decision making.

Casey Affleck does a good job of being sad and mumbling.

They ain't.  Oscar winners shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread. I was hoping for the ones who should have gotten one, but haven't. Or at least been considered.

Powers Boothe
Brion James
Vincent D'Onofrio. Now there's range, from Private Pyle to Edgar in MIB.
Bill Paxton
Sam Elliott, though he generally plays himself but himself is pretty cool.

Gary Oldman blends so well you don't even realize he is in half the movies he's in. One of the best actors ever and he doesn't get much recognition for it, due to the above reason. I'd call that underrated.

When he played Dracula I didn't even realize it was him for years.

D'Onofrio is very high on my list, but he's highly regarded among actors and others in the business. I also think TV viewers are well aware of his skill from criminal intent. He's marvelous to watch.
