Great season opener.
Glad we are getting 20 episodes this season. |

I thought Rollo was just faking it...
Turns out, I was really wrong!! |
|
Saw the preview that showed Ragnar being encircled by snakes. As I recall, that's how history says he died, betrayed by England and thrown in a pit of vipers.
Hope this isn't the last season. |

Crossbows that could be reset with one hand from the shoulder yet penetrated Viking shields seemed strange.
Or was I not seeing it right? |

*******SPOILER ALERT*******
Why did Rollo have the whole camp killed? If half were on his side, why not have them declare sides and just kill half? I guess he thought the half loyal to him would not remain loyal after seeing their brothers killed? |

View Quote Maybe that's why they doubled the number of episodes this year. Maybe Ragnar dies. It also seems like they are setting up Bjorn and Ragnar's other sons too.....maybe the show could continue with them. As I recall, their exploits were even more incredible than Ragnar's. |

Great start.
I'm looking forward to Rollo's storyline more than Ragnar's at the moment. |

View Quote i was disappointed, but it makes sense. at a personal level, he wants to break with his past completely and establish himself as his own man. at a political level, this proves something to his new people. and at a strategic level, he had no way of predicting what his camp would do when ragnar showed back up. wiping out the camp controls that variable. so from a purely instrumental point of view, the decision had a lot going for it. and remember, this is a guy who tried to kill his own brother several times, so self-interest runs pretty strong in the guy. |

The real historical Rollo is the great-great-great-grandfather of William the Conquer. He set's himself up good in Normandy.

Just watched it through the app. Good start. Was funny when the slicing of the schlong was immediately followed by a viagra commercial.

Vikings and Hell on Wheels are the best shows on tv currently.
I believe it is the hopes of the producers to continue the show past Ragnar to the eventual landings in America, realistically that won't happen but this show is a modern version of "How the West was Won" it doesn't have to be told through one person. Being a Christian I welcome Rollo to our side - the guy is a fucking beast. |
|
Looking forward to this season but the show will suck after Ragnar dies.
