I haven't been able to find which Senate committee HB961 has been assigned to or what it's status is.

Nothing on LIS.

Looked through all the dockets for the committees & subcommittees and nada.

Anybody know?

LIS shows the bill ENGROSSED in the House

“Engrossed” substantially means “passed” particularly as it refers to an AMENDED version of the original bill.

Per the rules of procedure, the Engrossed Bill is transmitted to the other Chamber of the Legislature for next action.

The respective Chambers will receive all transmitted bills, and the bills will be assigned to committees in the next chamber.

If you want to view an example of how it will appear on LIS, look at any bill from last year that passed.

Done. Got a staffer of Senator Petersen, voicemail for everyone else. Short and to the point. The very least I could do.

Note - they meet on Mondays at 8:00am and after adjournment on Wednesdays in Senate Room A of the Elizabeth Warren Building.  We need to be there.

We need to make sure we continuously have folks in there on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Now, I have a question for the arflawyers:  What does "Senate: Constitutional reading dispensed" mean?

I've called and written everyone pertinent. I was there in Richmond on 1/20, but I can't be there Monday. Please, write and call your state senators and if you can get to Richmond, go.

Senate Rule 27 specifies:
"Bills or resolutions originating in the House of Delegates and
communicated to the Senate shall be read by title the first time when received and
referred to the appropriate Committee unless otherwise directed by the Senate."
