Benchmade's "official post" on their FB page is over 5000 comments. From my browsing, about 99% are negative. I've already seen a FB post by a smaller knife dealer where they said "we stock and sell knives from many manufacturers but none of them consult with us before doing something stupid". I bet the dealers are starting to worry about all the Benchmade stock they have on hand. Benchmade enforces MAP for dealers, so it's not like you can use discounts to move them... View Quote Everybody dumping them at dealer cost depresses the value of the brand. If $150 knives are being sold for say $80 on clearance, there is a disincentive for remaining dealers to get anywhere near MSRP. Plus neckbeards will scoop em up and sell em on fleabay. The perception of value of the line has just been shot to hell. Nobody will pay full retail again. |

According to PoliceOne Oregon City PD has 28 officers.
The "chief" of a 28 member department and his leftist aspirations/anti-gun stunts exposed the leftist leadership of Benchmade. If they weren't anti-gun leftists I would think the other knifemakers piling on was unseemly. However, BM leadership are anti-gun leftists so I am highly entertained. |

No. Warren Osborne is my favorite designer, and it pains me that most (all?) of his production designs are Benchmade knives, and while I'm currently making folders with a lock that works like an axis (the patent expired), and similar blade profiles, I don't believe producing a direct copy is ethical. |

Quoted: No, they aren't. Tomkins owned S&W. Paid 112 million dollars for it. Made a single dumb agreement with Cuomo and Clinton. Gun owners were notified (NRA was primary on this) and Tomkins ended up selling S&W to Saf-T-Hammer for pennies on the dollar. Tomkins lost (not made, LOST) 67 million real dollars in about a year. Their company was purchased from them by a Canadian concern shortly afterward. I can't lay it out any more simply and yet I'd be willing to bet you still aren't capable of simply saying "er, ok...I was wrong." The legends of "Black Friday" were still spoken of when I was there, mostly by the old timers. That was shortly after the company was sold and they laid off more than half the workforce at the Springfield plant. Guys with 10, 15 and 20 years on were let go. They wiped out entire departments on black friday. No one was safe. So much was done in house back then and entire departments like the wood shop for grips and stocks and such were let go. I'm unsure with what went on across the highway at the Shooting Sports Center and S&W Academy at the timeframe. I think this was when the cafeteria staff were let go. The legends about the food being great down below (the cafeteria is in the basement lower level of the main building you see from roosevelt ave) were told. The caf was run by an outside company when i was there and it was absolute shit |

So where do I sell my autos and spring assisted Adamas, Purdue, Griptillian and Vallation since EBay doesnt let you? Want to raise funds for buying knives from 2nd amendment supporting companies?
Normally I'd list them here but that seems counter productive now. |

Interesting Anecdote: On the phone with my FFL right now about something unrelated and I asked him if he's heard anything about Benchmade today.
Was kinda surprised. He took his Benchmade display down and is selling his display BMs to his employees at cost. He's not sure about what he's going to do with his backstock, but he doesn't want a giant Benchmade sign over his knife case. |

I have two older Leatherman multitools that I love. I have not purchased any since the infamous shitstorm. If I needed another one I'd look at the current offerings from other companies first. If none of those appeared satisfactory I'd spend some time on the secondary market. All of that said, while I'm willing to go out of my way to not give Leatherman money, if right now I was on travel and needed a multitool I'd head into a big box store and buy a new Leatherman. Not the type to destroy or throw out my property to protest but you can bet your ass I will never buy another one. No fanfare, no nasty letters, I simply express my displeasure with my wallet. Sadly it seems like the "do not buy" list gets longer by the day as more and more companies put virtue signaling ahead of profit. Just makes no sense to me, especially when your customer base is made up of people who's rights you oppose. |
