First day of class done. I was told incorrectly, I do not have to prove I can float in a pool. I did get plenty soaked this afternoon during the damage control practice portion of things.

When you walk up the ramp to the second floor here you gotta be careful.
You're downrange from where they shoot archery when you get to the top. |

Both my car thermostat and new safety selector have been delivered, so I know what I'll be doing when I get home.

But this is the best thing for my son, so here I sit, eating my own principles. Am I wrong to do it? I wish you and your son the best in dealing with them, hope it goes well . As to you're principals dilemma . If you are one of the boomer haters on ARF that thinks boomers are stealing from you because they expect the benefit they paid for their entire life, then you are being a hypocrite and should support him yourself. If you are not and understand that you had nothing to do with the systems creation or its rules , carry on and do what you think is best for him without regret . Trust me when I say that every single person here on ARF that screams SS is theft will take theirs when it's their time , to the very last man . The problem is SS is entirely supported by the current working generation contributions and I have zero faith that system with be anywhere near functioning when I retire in 24 years. |

We take care of a woman in church that is 21 but is about as big as a 2 year old, non-verbal, and has very limited sign language. It took her Mom 2 YEARS to get benefits. Yep. Our attorney told us to file ASAP because the benefits get backdated to the initial file date He specializes in special needs. He charges a flat fee for his work. He's really an amazing person. That is amazing to hear! My coworkers wife was fighting for disability. Finally got it, 25 percent went to the lawyer. That was a good chunk of change. |

Quoted: I think of you guys when I get my next SS deposit. SS is not out of money. The trust fund is invested in government obligations which are safe but do not pay a lot. I expect Congress will pass a fix which almost certainly include a gradual raising of the full retirement age, removing the cap on taxable earnings and maybe an increase in the tax rate. If Congress fails to act, we can all expect to get 75-80% of your benefits. Don’t give us Boomers any of the BS that SS is a tax. We have been paying it all of our working days and know exactly what it is. We also expect the benefits we were promised in exchange for our participation. Any politician who wants to be elected knows that they cannot reduce the payments. View Quote Found a D |

The thing about special needs kids that people dont realize is they end up being special needs adults , my son is involved with 4 or 5 groups and non profits , they do a lot of activities together , they range in age from late teens to mid 60's , there is a lot of over lap between them , Im just starting to connect who is who from what group , also the people who work and are aides for these groups are without a doubt the most giving folks Ive ever met , at least the ones I encounter. Its humbling to see folks give so much .
