When we have used them where I work, the inmate is told we will not use this feature and instead need to be cognizant of the person in control of the remote (we call them the "button man"). This officer will give them subtle signals as a warning if possible before deploying the device. If the device is activated it will make a clacking sound similar to what you hear with the taser. However with the contacts pressed against the skin, there should not be a lot of audible clacking but you will hear that audible beep as the device is activated for a stun. |
