Maybe they were raising their hands to ask a question all at once? Or they could just say they were giving the Roman salute.

So? Meanwhile the new governor of Virginia gets to be a blackface with a kkk wanto be next to him and he is embraced by the Virginia populace?

Dumb idea but those cadets have a case for wrongful dismissal An instructor made them greet her like that or face punishment while in the academy. Most of them are 19-21 year old kids Stupid decisions and it’s likely done but the blame lays on the instructors I have no problem with it. Depending on how things went during their time there..? It is a parting fuck you for an over zealous instructor or a heartfelt goodbye to a good instructor that was harsh but fair ! Just a ribbing. Don’t read shit into it that is not there ! IDK..I was not there. Looks and sounds like huge D-Bag, SJW management feels. |

I can't believe anyone, especially in official capacity, would be photographed doing something like this these days. Morons.

Looks like some sort of class motto type thing they’d been doing for weeks.
Only person at fault, if anyone should be, is the instructor who allowed and encouraged it. But, I think this is bullshit. |

Looks like a couple of black folks in the class so there's that!

Welcome to 2019 where holding your hand a certain way can land you on the unemployment wagon. I hope nobody ever pulls up a photo of me hailing an uber View Quote "OMG guyz, what's wrong with a Nazi salute in an official graduation photo?? Stupid PC clown world culture!!!" Like do REALLY honestly think the action of raising your hand to catch an Uber is the even remotely equivalent to this group doing a Bellamy/Nazi salute in a graduation photo? I can't figure out which are the troll accounts anymore that are pretending to be obtuse/arguing in bad faith or simply being honest. Like I said before. It's like a 13 year old trying to be edgy in a family portrait by flipping off the camera with their hands are on his knees/middle fingers extended. But after mom gets mad, they pretend to play dumb with: "But mom, I was just resting my hands that particular way, why are you getting mad???!!!" like it's some super clever joke. |

They were hailing their instructor, in what was clearly a gesture poking fun at, not showing support for, Nazis. They were not hailing Hitler. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/news/2019/12/31/TELEMMGLPICT000220100213_trans_NvBQzQNjv4Bqng10RN4OACF490UF0AcEIptB_DuUZn4bsGq3sU8trTc.jpeg?imwidth=1400 This is PC run amok. View Quote Think about it this way. Say these cadets were to make it to a jail. And say a black or Hispanic inmate files a claim of mistreatment and then their lawyer discovers this photo. We all know it would end up costing the state tons of money in a settlements because the second a minority inmate makes a claim, and a jury is shown that the guard accused was photographed making the sieg hail sign then its going to be a pretty much open and shut case in 2020. Part of being in a job like law enforcement is having good judgement, and being willingly photographed doing this is pretty poor judgement. |
|
The time has long since passed to stop giving "ownership" of gestures and symbols to different groups. It's not a Nazi salute, they are just fucking raising their hands. Unless they shouted "heil Hitler" at the same time, all meaning is being assigned by the viewer.

I guess they'll all have to figure out some other way to make $14/hr. Domino's drivers can usually make that much with tips and mileage, and they don't even have to report it if they don't want to. Hell, as a Domino's driver you could probably even do a Nazi salute without getting too much crap about it.

|
How do you know right before the pic was taken someone didn't wask "who wants a snickers?"
|

|
Inside joke in the class, meant with fondness.
One of their instructors was a lady named Byrd, and she ran the course with an iron hand, “like Hitler.” I suppose the photo was meant to be presented to her. Not National Socialism or white supremacy, but that won’t save them. |

Bunch of retards, that's a huge waste of money but whatever.

The more I read this thread, the more I lose faith in humanity. Do you guys have to move the goalpost to justify EVERYTHING???
It's perfectly fine to just admit and say "Yeah, that was super stupid and they should have known better. Even someone that just came out of a multi-decade coma will know this VERY SPECIFIC Nazi/Bellamy hand signal has a racist background. This group could have done 100+ other hand signals with zero drama but they happened to have chosen the ONE that has a long history of racism." It's okay. It's totally fine to just admit these idiots messed up aka "play stupid games, win stupid prizes," and just move on with your life. I just don't understand all these types rushing to find a way to justify all of these blatantly stupid actions like you're some anti-PC martyr and it's some cross you need to bear. Like every news story, no matter how stupid people are and 99.9999% of the population sees it as completely moronic, you feel the need to be an edgelore and take the .0000001% view to show your anti-PC: "Look at me guyz, I'm purposely being obtuse. Please give me a Distinguished Edgelord medal and an anti-PC virtue signaling Culture Warrior ribbon for my triumphant actions of going against the grain." |

https://i.imgflip.com/3ku3pr.jpg View Quote It's like if you're at a party or bar with friends and someone is recording every conversation. At the end of the night they have 5 hours of you talking. I'm sure they could find a single moment where they take 3 words out of a sentence (completely out of context) to paint you as a bad guy. Like "Yeah, my dog was barking all night. I was tired of that bitch keeping me up all night but she's still a puppy." And then someone splices out 4 words with the intention of making you look bad: "Did you hear him saying 'tired of that bitch'...he must hate woman!!!" Of course that's moronic. You're not seeing the entire context of that sentence. So please, explain this joke with the quoted pic. Explain how a politician caught in a brief freeze frame moment is TOTALLY the same equivalent of a formal group POSING with a specific hand movement (in a fixed position and PURPOSELY doing it) for a formal photo. Or even better, show me a video of that screengrab above showing Obummer holding a Nazi/Bellamy salute to prove it wasn't just a simple freeze frame wave taken out of context. And explain the equivalency between the two pictures without making it about me/making it personal/ad-hominem. Would love to hear it. |

When I was young and dating, my mom gave me one piece of advice: "Never put anything in writing." meaning, don't make written promises that someone could use against you later.
Today's generation would do well to expand that to include all forms of digital recording. |
|
Well that was stupid. Seems like a bit of an overreaction to go scorched-earth over it though considering that it’s probably just a joke about how rigid/strict that instructor was.

Who gives a shit how they want to ham it up for a picture. This PC shit is what started the snowflake revolution we have today.

Its still amazing to me that people fail to think of the optics in this day and age. I'm sorry but if these cadets can't think critically and decide for themselves if doing this was a good idea, then good firing. And before anyone says "well they had to because the instructor made them" just remember, anyone thinking critically would say "ok then, report me for not sieg hailing you" and watch the instructor get shitcanned instead. Interesting that pretty much everyone is saying, "it's not their fault", or "damn they shouldn't have photographed that".... Maybe they should think for themselves and know that a nazi salute is not ok in any situation, unless they are a nazi - In which case, they are easier to spot and eliminate if they are saluting. |

they said hail Byrd not heil Hitler for crying' out loud.
quick expunge the world of all the Hogan's Heroes episodes too...for fear of the dreaded making fun of stuff |
