If you're going to go the calorie deficit route then I would advise some modifications. First white rolls, white rice, corn and crackers have no nutritional value at all. In fact they will only work to make you hungrier. By switching to brown rice, and a whole wheat roll you will actually consume less calories and feed your body. Corn is a little lighter calorie wise then ice cream but ice cream is a healthier choice. The saltine crackers have less nutritional value than the package they're sold in.

*ETA* page 6 is mine, everyone below me can be my mag bitch.

Turns out no one 30 pounds overweight is "otherwise healthy."  And you don't get that way if you have "normal healthy" eating habits.

I guess now there's a bunch of trolls here. . . . . . . . BTW I went more than a year with nearly no carbs.  Went from 207 to 179 (I'm 6'2") in less than 10 weeks and looked like a Greek god naked.  Girls in their 20s allowed their gaze to linger just long enough for me to know it works for me.  I still have many days with near zero carbs.  The fewer I have, the better I feel and look.

I gotta quit this tho.  I'm falling for a bunch of people trying to rope a dope.

OP, your diet is hopeful and well meant but you need to count calories better and cut down the sweets

i have been dieting for 5 weeks and lost 18 lbs.  im targetting 1700 cals a day - its amazing how quick the calories add up when you track everything carefully.

good luck.

One pound per week is fine with me.  I'm not fat, just trying to lose the love handles.

Pretty much this. After you hit your goal, you can start to add in comfort foods or even cheat days as long as you eat clean the rest of the time. Proteins are needed to build muscle and building lean muscle burns fat.

I actually have shed a lot of carbs for protein.  Breakfast is an egg with a little fresh fruit, lunch is similar, sometimes I go with peanut butter.  No sweet beverages, etc.

But, we always have desert.  Just how we roll.

I just found this thread. Subnet is trying to lead by example. OP should take note.

Dupemaster should get subnet to give him some of those recipes for his restaurant. Looks delicious and healthy.

BTW, it's true that the sugar cravings go away when you're not chowing down on a bunch of empty calories every day. I have a little nibble of dark chocolate a few times a week for an indulgence.

I have a 3 lb daily fluctuation. A single weight isn't really very useful. I weigh almost every morning, mostly because of curiosity. The outliers are interesting. Sometimes I have a 5 lb increase that is gone the next day.

The low outliers are a sign that the high outliers are going to get lower.

I enter my weight in a spreadsheet and plot a graph. Weight goes down in a zig zag line, not a straight one, although you can kind of extrapolate a line.

My wife was saying F-it, she's going off Keto for a week.  Get milk and cereal.

I'm a good guy, I ask if she wants Cheerios (her request) or Honey Nut Cheerios.  She says, "Ooooh, Honey Nut!"  After the first bite she says, "these are... really sweet."
