Probably Metroid. I was able to beat mother brain and get back to the surface one time, and on time only.
Second would be Zelda II. It had the perfect diffictulty level. Hard but doable. Most satisfying moment was knocking that ghost knight Rebonack off his horse then killing his ass. |

Till the battery in the cartridge died. I never even played the first one till years after II came out. They are both classics IMO. Beat the shit out of "Adventure" on Atari. "Created by Warren Robinett". LOL. |

Mario 1 (and duck hunt) and 3. Played them so much I can still beat them with my eyes closed.
Bad Dudes Tetris Ninja Turtles the arcade game. Played it a ton, could only beat it with the game genie Simpsons Bart vs the space mutants. I never could finish it. Furthest I ever made it was the museum level. And my TV was a black and white TV which made the first level almost impossible to figure out, since you had to find purple items. |

Super Techmo Bowl
Mario Duckhunt Metal Gear ETA: My cousin and I still play Super Techmo Bowl whenever we get together |
Has to be Duck Hunt. There also was a Disneyland game I remember playing a lot.
Super Mario Bros. Played that game until my fingers were raw, then played some more.

After a while I didn't GAF. I could run through the game with one or two at most lol. God the hours we wasted playing that stuff... |

If you're quick about it, you can catch the beetle on the stairs at the end of the game similar to the turtle in level 3. |

Super Mario bros, contra, zelda, Metroid, golgo-13, duck hunt.
All I can remember off the top Of my head. |
Grew up poor, never had a Nintendo.
Probably spent a few hours watching my friends play Mario on their Nintendos. |
Quoted: Probably this. Using warp whistles but no cheats, I can beat the whole game in like 25 minutes. The first level of world one I could almost play with my eyes closed. View Quote Gotta work on it, gramps. That's a 7 minute game. Unless you stop in world 1-2 to rack up a ton of lives with the racoon suit. There's a big T shaped pipe with goombas falling out of it. Duck and jump, use the tail to fall slower, bounce off all the goombas to get as many lives as you want. as long as you dont kill the flying one, you can hit him once, then scroll him off the screen, and he respawns with his wings so you can hit him over and over. |

Back when the NES was current, probably River City Ransom.
In the modern era (last 20 years) either Star Tropics or Zelda. |
That's a tough one....maybe Mario or Contra. Or Kung Fu. Or Little League World Series.
I can't narrow it down to one. But here are the contenders...
Mike Tyson's Punchout! Dragon Warrior I Dragon Warrior II NES Open Tournament Golf (still play this one on the Switch, but also have the original NES working) |

sky shark
Sky Shark (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete |

Zelda (still play it often)
Tecmo Bowl & Tecmo Super Bowl RBI Baseball Zelda probably wins, but the other three were played a ton. |
Some developers should just update Super Tecmo Bowl with current teams/players.
Way more fun than latest Madden |
We were poor so we didn't have many games and I think I rented out borrowed most. I probably played Super Mario Brothers 3, The Legend of Zelda, Ghosts & Goblins, RoboCop, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Ninja Gaiden the most.
Mega Man 2, 3, and 4 probably.
I probably had the most time on 2. I remember Christmas in ‘89 when I received MM 2. No Christmas has matched that one. |
Double Dribble
RBI baseball Excite bke Baseball Stars Mario 1 & 2 zelda contra Ninja gaiden double dragon Tetris skate or die Shinobi |
Probably Guardian Legend follower by either Mario 3 or Lifeforce.
