People mentioned it in a thread about brisket and I asked what Ohio food threads are and I can’t get a straight answer from anyone. I’ve lived here all my life so I’m curious, I assume it has something to do with the Buckeyes like everything else around here lol. Is it an inside joke?

Someone recently posted up a picture of "pulled pork" cooked in a crockpot. It was sad to see and us real Ohioans are still trying to recover. Foxtrot08 decided he had enough and is thinking about moving to Michigan.
Yes, the post was that bad. |

There have been multiple threads posted over the last few months by members from Ohio sharing a local "delicacy". The meal was not well received by members that were not from Ohio.

Hey OP, do you live in Ohio? Do you cook weird as fuck dishes that you think are normal but the rest of the county questions your mental capacity?
If you answered yes to both of those questions then you have your answer. |

I am amazed at some of the shit food that gets posted from ohio. I don't know very many people in my AO that eat that stuff. I have seen the skyline Chilli if that is what you call it before but the other stuff nope. What ohio does have that never gets posted about is a lot of international neighborhoods with really good food. |

Weird garbage dishes that the rest of the country rightfully frowns upon.

Quoted: Did you guys know macaroni and cheese was invented in Ohio? View Quote Lmao um no. You can trace mac & cheese we know in America back to France and James Hemings who was Thomas Jefferson slave and master chef who was trained in France. Thomas Jefferson also first tried the dish in France and its one of the reasons he had his slave trained as a chef. Many of the dishes we love in America we can attribute to him such as ice cream , French fries, Mac & cheese. |
