No matter who wins this election, America’s pendulum is swinging hard left.
A Trump victory would give us another four-year reprieve from those who see the Bill of Rights as an obstacle. But only four.
I have friends who are smarter than I am who feel that regular people are so fed up with cancel-culture and race riots, and so unwilling to bail out the cities that encouraged them with higher taxes, that there will be a “red wave”.
But, I suspect that Biden/Harris will win unambiguously tomorrow.
And if they don’t win on Election Day, mail-in ballots will be “found” until they do.
The election seems to center on Pennsylvania. The dirty tricks are already in overdrive there.
If there’s a silver lining, it’s that the initial transition of power will probably be relatively peaceful. When was the last time you saw Conservatives burn and loot?
But the folks who actually have been burning and looting are not going to suddenly feel charitable as they wield their new power. Sooner or later, the Right will have to decide whether to submit to what’s planned for it or not.
When people are this divided, they either separate or fight until one side can dictate terms. Can you name an exception in history?
America’s noble and unique experiment with Constitutional Republicanism is ending. Our experiment with Socialism is beginning.
That’s a well-worn path. There is no mystery about where it goes.
I hope I’m wrong.
