anise or whatever they make licorice from, clove is pretty nasty, hate celery seeds, fennel is pretty bad...

Cilantro (as said above) can taste like nasty soap to some people, I'm not one of those but I'm still not a fan of the flavor.

It tastes like a fucking bar of soap. Just the smell of it runs me out of the room.

I love cilantro. Cilantro lime marinated shrimp on the BBQ mmmm... Or I dump it all over a burrito or quesadilla.

My vote goes to cumin.

The seeds don’t have that nasty nasty soap taste that the leaves do.

Probably cilantro if you're one of those with the unfortunate genes where it tastes like soap.

For me personally, probably cumin.  It's a staple in a lot of cooking and I use it very sparingly, but I do not like it.

I can take a little cilantro mixed in with salsa, but when they put full cilantro leaves on your nachos, that shit gets picked off

Cilantro is a staple in Tex-mex or similar. You can't have decent salsa or tacos without cilantro.

I've never found a good use for cardamom.

This.

I've read some modern occult books that recommend using it to banish evil spirits

If you've ever wanted to smell like an Indian grocery store: Asafoetida and that indian temple incense in the yellow box along with some rotten produce will perfectly replicate the odor

When I use cumin I use about 1/2 or less than the recipe calls for.  Or leave it out all together.

Fennel seed for sure.

+1

A great addition to chili.

I use a ton of it in East Indian recipes.

My Hungarian mother adds it to beef dishes.
