Hands down, INDIAN BLACK SALT... Don’t take my word for it, try it. That shit is rank.

Quoted: anise or whatever they make licorice from, clove is pretty nasty, hate celery seeds, fennel is pretty bad... Cilantro (as said above) can taste like nasty soap to some people, I'm not one of those but I'm still not a fan of the flavor. View Quote Well, I guess that about covers buzzing the tower. Less typing to just quote you. |

Not a fan of clove...
Anise is nasty when that's the primary flavor you taste, but you cannot make pho without it. I'm not a fan if cinnamon |

Tarragon, it reminds me of scraping the grass clippings off a lawnmower.
I used to really hate White pepper but now I can handle a little bit in certain Asian dishes. |

Quoted: I have to wonder... I don't mind skunk smell either. I am willing to bet you find it strongly offensive? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: I can't get enough cilantro. I HATE fennel seed. BTW, I'm pretty sure the aversion to cilantro is a genetic thing. It is. We can taste a compound others can’t that gives it very strong soap taste and smell I have to wonder... I don't mind skunk smell either. I am willing to bet you find it strongly offensive? Thiols are the stank. |

Thyme. I can stand a little, but people are always using that shit in excess.

Quoted: Anise, definitely. I hate licorice and similar foods. Ive seen a lot of people say they hate cilantro and that is has a very strong, foul taste and odor. I can barely taste or smell it at all. I think some people are just wired a little differently. I'm the same way with celery. Most people I talk to say it is bland with basically no taste or smell. But I have to leave the room if someone is chopping celery nearby. It smells so foul I usually can't stand to be near it. The only way I can eat it is if it's in a soup and has been cooked to total mush. Anything less, and I can't eat it. View Quote I love celery. I have five pounds of celery seeds. Celery flavor is like vegetable bacon to me. |

Quoted: Quoted: It is obvious that people have different tastes, and. that strong dislikes are just as varied as anything else. I can't think of any spice/herb that I really dislike, but while I generally really like almost any vegetable and/or fruit, I cannot stand parsnips. When biting into a chunk of parsnip in a stew or soup, it looks like a potato so that is the taste I expect, then I get that nasty tasting parsnip...I even like Brussels sprouts and spinach. I love parsnips. |

The one that tastes like black licorice. Terrible.
Eta: fennel? Is that it? |

Parsley, sage, rosemary and Lowry's seasoning salt.... Ugh you just described every meal my Grandma cooked. Overdosed on all that shit. And a plateful of fruit... with garlic or onion salt sprinkled on it. God damn. |

My mom was always going from one miracle health fad to the next. For a time she would make us take spoonfuls of oregano oil for some reason, and it was horrible. Still can't stand the smell of it on its own, but I don't mind if it's mixed into a sauce.

Can't think of any that I hate. Between the cilantro, anise, and fennel haters, though, I see we have quite a few here with the taste buds of a 9-y/o child.

Quoted: I can take a little cilantro mixed in with salsa, but when they put full cilantro leaves on your nachos, that shit gets picked off View Quote I love cilantro, but ya, full leaves on nachos ? I wouldn't like that, chopped up mixed with onions and a bit of lime juice is the best on burritos, tacos etc. |

Many years ago I rented a house and the landlady had us over and gave us some
clove tea. I was polite and drank it, but it was rough to choke down. |

Properly utilized, all spices taste good. I dislike mint in general, I guess, but I can enjoy it in certain applications.

Asafetida/hing. Ugh, only spice I can't/won't use.
I hate cilantro, but can make it past a little. Asafetida? Nope, can't make it past any. |

Quoted: A: Cilantro View Quote My wife used to be wrong too. Then she got Covid and now cilantro tastes awesome to her. Maybe you should try getting Covid so it can fix your tastebuds. |
