Rolling Stones 'Let It Bleed"

All kinds of country and big band music. That's what my parents listened to and pretty much what the radio stations played.

One 45 record has always stuck with me though. My Dad, who passed when I was 7, loved this song. Bear in mind he was born and raised in the Smoky Mountains of western NC.

If anyone can post Wolverton Mountain by Claude King I will be grateful. On my phone or I would do it.

He said that song was a true story about some old man near where he grew up.

When I was 10, I was listening to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Animals, Yardbirds, Jefferson AIrplane... rock was gettin' serious, yo.

But the song I associate with being a little kid is this one. It was the first record I ever owned. I was a toddler and had my own record player, and I played this song 87 times a day.

Age 10 was about the time I was transitioning from The Monkeys and Paul Revere and The Raiders to a couple of years of Motown stuff.
