'66 Ford Fairlane 2 door hardtop. My first car.

I'd also like another '79 Ford F-250. Heck, I'd settle for an F-150. I had a beauty that I let go in a weak moment.

Top speed for a stock ICE Smart Car is quoted at 96 mph, but I got passed by one on the Autobahn while I was doing right at 100. He didn't blow by me, but he wasn't dawdling, either. I wasn't so much impressed that someone had hopped one up as the fact they'd drive it that fast over distance.

Mine is the last gen Trackhawk. They don't make em anymore. And no, not going used for personal reasons, but boy, if I could go back in time, I'd take the financial hit and get one, with OE extended warranty of course.  Anyone else got a redheaded stepchild dream car?

if you lived nearby we'd be hanging out, this would be one of my choices.  I had a fun "race" once with a buddy, ran my normal v6 JGC  against a 392 JGC.  it wasn't even close

That was my first car, a burgundy 1985 Volvo 240DL! It had a tan interior. Good times with that car.

That's what made them so good for the time. It was a really solid chassis which made for a nice balanced sports sedan. It was really more of a successor to the 2nd gen Taurus SHO then the Yamaha V8/Auto SHO was in my opinion.

I had that exact car up until about 5 years ago.  Same color even.

Honestly, it was probably the best vehicle I've ever owned.  Cheap late '90s interior and all that.  I've definitely driven a lot faster cars.  But as far as driving and handling and everything just feeling "right,"  I don't think I've ever driven anything better.

I would agree. I had a customer with one who wanted me to rip around in it for a bit because he thought there was something wrong with it. The car ran great, and I was surprised by how quick it was, for what it was.

As for me, I've been hankering for an 87 Shelby GLHS lately.

Those are wild too. Had a guy at autox many moon ago that had a modified one. Maybe it was just a Omni GLH but regardless that fucking was stupidly fast. Could never get enough tire or suspension tweaks on it to really get the power down though to make it a *real* autox or road race car. More of a *HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS A BLAST* mutant.

I had a 1987 Escort EXP, that looked pretty much just like this one. It had the GT powertrain as well.

I also thought there was no such thing as a V6 with a good exhaust note until that car.  The exhaust sound was amazing.

My '87 GN and '87 Turbo T Limited sounded pretty good but you know there was that sweet sweet garret turbo action in between the heads and the muffler which helped things out a bit.

E46 should be fun if I ever get it done.  Shorter final drive, welded diff, long travel suspension need installed.  More weight reduction after I get the other stuff done. Certainly not something everyone would drive. Attachment Attached File

For sure lol.

As far as the Contour, it sounded especially cool when the IMRC kicked in @ 3500rpm and it went from 16v to 24v.
