Either Ultima Online or EQ 1
If I had to guess I'd probably say Ultima Online |
Edited... thinking back:
Halo 3 (online) Morrowind Skyrim Elden Ring Dark Souls 1 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl Modern Warfare 2 Gears of War 1 |
Quoted: WoW. My shaman had over 200 days played and my dk had like 75. I would like to have that time back. I'm playing Dark Souls 3 right now and I keep reading about what a terrible grind covenant items are going to be. I just laugh. View Quote I feel your pain. I called it quits around 2008 when I realized I had accumulated ~384 days on my main and alts. Grinded my way to HWL with a troll rogue under the old system, then made number one/HWL rogue/rogue team in arena when it was first launched. Quit when I realized how much time I wasted. Elder scrolls Morrowind, Grand Turismo and Counterstrike were my other time sinks before WoW. |

1. WOW by a longshot. I played and raided regularly from vanilla until about a year ago.
2. RUST 3. EFT 4. RDR2 These are the ones I played regularly. I have a bunch of other games with multiple playthroughs, but that was here and there. |
I have about 4200 hours total played between Destiny 1 and 2 across XBox, Playstation and PC.
Red Alert. I have the Windows 10 emulation, I play it every few weeks.

Dark Age of Camelot
RVR MMORPG released in 2003 and still going today actually. At its peak it had about half a million players, which pre-WoW was a lot. I played that game a lot, would pull all nighters frequently and even ran my own guild at one point. Met two women on it, one from California and one from Colorado, I lived on the east coast and flew out to see both of them three times each, both were hot for gaming bitches. Anyway that game is pure sex……..if you are a competitive guy, DAoC is addicting as hell |
Quoted: Goldeneye I am 39 I haven't played it much in the last 20ish years. View Quote I bet the muscle memory is still there, though! The last time I got challenged to a game of GoldenEye, I beat the poor kid 20 to 0. It was both awkward and funny explaining to him that I had been playing that game longer than he's been alive. |

Mechwarrior 4. All the iterations.
How many hours would "played for about a decade" count as? Next closest would be gran turismo 2. Don't play much on anything these days. |
War at Sea
Command modern air and sea campaign World of Tanks Cold Waters |
Definitely Oblivion I had over 150 hours on it before my 360 shit the bed after several years.
Now that my boy and I play Minecraft together I assume my time is getting up there on that now. |
Hmmm. Grand total? That’s tough. Counter Strike had a lot of staying power, as did the original Modern Warfare and Halo.
Then again my kids and I have dusted off the old school Super Nintendo, so between the 90s and now, the old Donkey Kong and Mario games may have clocked the most time in total.. |
Quoted: All time? Close Combat: The Russian Front View Quote It used to piss me off to no end when my guys would basically crawl on top of enemy soldiers without engaging them and get taken out. |
Over my lifetime? Either Commander Keen series or Alien Legacy.
Recently? Ghost Recon Wildlands or Watchdogs. |
I think overwatch most likely.
Team based fps with different roles. tank , support, damage. It's heavily dependent on being smart and counterplay. So if you are older like me and don't have insane reaction speed and God aim you can still rank high in competitive by outsmarting the stupid kids |

Quoted: Grew up in the 60s and 70s. Never played one in my life. Not being edgy, they just held zero attraction for me. I understand teens and 20 YO men, but never stop being amazed at the number of grown men still playing them. Or going to comic book movies. View Quote I was born in '59. My parents had one of the first IBM PC desktops. Man that thing was damn near useless and expensive. I remember playing a texted based game on there... Wishbringer (???). Years later, I found they had made a game from Frederik Pohl's Gateway series. Hubby and I played that together. Then I played Camelot and RollerCoaster Tycoon. Then I stopped for a while. Started playing again with Portal (mods) and Half Life (mods). Now I have too many hours into; Metro, Bioshock, Resident Evil, Prey, Soma, Dead Space, Singularity, etc. I play mostly single player games. I'm really not good enough to go up against kids. I'd get my ass handed to me. |
The original Battlefields on PC when I was a kid. 1942, BF2, BF Vietnam, BF 2142.... it's a shame what battlefield has become.
Currently, the only game I regularly play is NHL on xbox |

According to Steam it is Skyrim, but there were times that I would just stop without exiting for whatever reason, and not notice until the next day.
After that, FO4 |
Space Invaders, but it’s been, like, 40 years so I’m probably a bit rusty.

My dad always had a fast gaming PC in the early 90s so its hard for me to say . Since age 10 I went online. Ill just make a list of ones I was really really into
Microsoft Combat Flight Sim 1/2 . I really enjoyed playing in Ridge runners server room whem 56K and DSL came into their own . Used to play with all the visual aides off Half Life One, HL FireArms, HL Day Of Defeat Team Fortress with some of it on the W.O.N. (World Opp Network) Battlefield 1942/Desert Combat Mod which eventually turned into BF2,BF3,BF4 and Bad Company Fallout NV and Fallout 3/4 I still play And my current game is hell let loose |

Destiny 2. I usually play with my grown son when he doesn't work and joined his clan called...Let'ss Go Brandon FJB. But I play a ton of this game usually solo.
Anyone wants to play some Destiny 2 hit me up......gamer tag is Get Ganked 216 on playstation network. |
Quoted: Air Warrior Counter Strike Yes I am getting old. View Quote I used to play Counter Strike a lot. Then I gave it up for a few years. Then on a whim I fired it up and played for an evening. The last game I was playing counter terrorist, I was the last alive and I'm at the bomb. But I forgot how to defuse. My team was angry. |

Modern Warfare 2 on PS2. Had around 100 days logged in playing online when I sold my system. Played it pretty much non stop from the time it came out until they quit patching it on the PlayStation network and the hackers got bad.
After a while I just started playing to earn the various badges for the different achievements. Silly stuff like 10k kills with sentry guns and javelins. Guess I never signed out on my machine cause when I sold it to a guy I worked with his kids asked him who the heck he got it from and were impressed. |
Ark, somewhere around 5k hours.
Battlefield 3 is probably number two with Modern Warfare (2019) in third. |
Quoted: Back in the day it was the game Soldier of Fortune 2 multiplayer (capture the flag) that I played the most. Now it seems it's Cod games. I miss SOF2 View Quote Same here, helped admin the unofficial PlanetSoldier forum server. Whole thing got ruined when we tried to build a legit team, and one member let his asshole kid run wild on the server with his admin access password and a wall-hack/aimbot program. Shout-out to my long-lost friends DeadAgain, OneSlowGun, Dremel, and SlappyFlatusman. It was fun while it lasted. |
Ultima online. Played for over seven years from the time it was released in the 90's.
The Witcher 3
Assassin's Creed series Skyrim Fallout 4 Battlefield 4 |
