Not directly from the thread but a couple years ago i found the last 60" LG 4k tv on brickseek at my local Walmart for $200.
Was on storage, on the top rack in the back behind another brand.
Convinced the electronics manager to check for me and she came back with it and a big smile.

Or, by buying items that have extreme markdowns, you're hurting them more than if you didn't go into the store.

When a gun that has a 20 percent profit margin gets marked down over 60 percent they're losing money on the sale. If they leave it on the shelf at full price there's always the chance to sell it at a profit.

Only recently got Miracle Gro Shake-N-Feed for 50% off as they were emptying the garden center for the season. Crazy thing was I scanned the product with their app, saw the price and decided to get four. Go to self checkout and the price is only like 20% off. WTF? Try to cancel and it needs an associate. I explained the problem to the associate and he told me to hold on a moment. Checked his app and it had the same price I saw. Said he would be right back as he went over to customer service. He came back and price adjusted all of my bottles to the app price. Proves to me the app price is the final authority if there is a pricing issue. Saved me $18.

That is unless the store itself is going out of business. Back in 2020 the department store Lord & Taylor closed all its brick and mortar stores. Everything was on extreme clearance and I got two bargains from them that were probably the best deal I ever got on something anywhere. I bought a new Hudson's Bay 4-point wool blanket (a Canadian thing) for USD$75. These sell for over USD$550 now (thought they were still around USD$400 but just checked and changed my pricing). I was so impressed went back the next day with $75 cash to get another one and they were marked down to USD$60

I already had one that I got back in the mid-90's when I went to Hudson's Bay in downtown Toronto and bought for CAD$300 which was good with the CAD/USD exchange rate back then (think it worked out to USD$225).

A can of green tip for something like $87.  And then I got a flat tire on the way home, so it was a pretty expensive can, all things considered.

Two DJI Minis for $99.  Kept one, sold one for double what I paid.  It was a massive pain in the ass, as every offer I got on Facebook was from some Mexican that didn't speak English (I lived in SETX at the time).

Mostly ammo. Some Suprema BUckshot @ $7.00 and later more @ $2.50. Got 240 rounds of Wolf .223 for $12.

A bunch of .243 @$4.50/box. .270 at around the same price.

I still have a bunch of 9mm and most of 4 200 round boxes of WWB that was inexpensive, but I don't remember exactly what I paid for them.

I did find one of the Savage 64F rifles for like $72. One of the Marlin 45-70s, too, but that one never went on clearance. At least at no time I was there and I couldn't convince them to check for more markdowns. Other than that, never had any luck with any firearms.

I DID get a couple of Samsung 300W 2.1 soundbars @$40/ea, but I had work for those. Finally found an employee willing to go look for them and came back after a while to say they had five and asked if I wanted them all. Told her two would be fine and thanked her for looking.

I bought some Goodyear Wrangler Authority E load rated Mud tires for a CUCV.

$25 a tire.   Normal pricing was $195 a tire.

Bought 6 so I'd have 4 + 2 spares for rotation.  Had to go to three locations to get all 6 but well worth the driving for the savings!

$162.37 Total Out The Door for $1266.52 of tires.

“They were $30 on clearance at WalMart”

I’ve got some kind of gift for getting clearance at Walmart.

10 years ago Walmart had these on clearance for $999. I got one, almost got two but the other was being purchased as I was walking up to the counter. Got the last one they had, it was like three boxes full of stuff they had to wheel out to my car. Originally was $1700. Everything pictured was included, rifle is a Colt 6920 in a pelican case.

" />

Couple years ago after Christmas they had these Razor electric four wheelers, steel framed with disc brakes. Normally $450, they had a pallet of them in the middle of an aisle for $99. I squeezed two into my wife’s mini van. Kids absolutely loved them.

Picked up a $500 Coleman saluspa hot tub for $140 a year ago, still going strong.

Six months ago picked up a $450 Coleman mini bike for $150. It’s the smaller one, but my kids are small and love it. They had two go karts but those were gone by the time I got back.

In the past week I picked up two $50 humidifiers for $5 each, which I needed. Also about 30 stuffed animals for a big kids birthday party, were $35 a piece but they had them in a giant box for $1 a piece.

Plenty of other smaller stuff too.

Reading this thread makes me sick. I tried to get in on the deals. Apparently every store I went to had neckbeards running the sporting goods department. Showed items were in stock but were nowhere to be found.

Think I got 500 rds of ZQI 62 grain for $0.21 per round but that wasn't when the great clearance sale happened tho.

Mini 14 for 399.  I missed out on the 45/70 by a mere minutes.
Ammo.  Tons of ammo.  I had to buy a .300 BLK because of it.  Local store showed 5 boxes of ammo for 5 bucks each.  Went to the store. Saw it on the lower shelf.  Said I will take it all.  Guy looked at me and said are you sure?  There's 55 boxes here...

Before Brickstreet.  I got to know the counter person at the local.  She would clue me in on closeouts.  Got a Ruger 10/22 monte carlo stock for 99 bucks.

Got a 20 gauge 11/87 for 139?

Those were the days!
