I primarily used a 22 long rifle for small game hunting and a .243 for my deer hunting and black bear hunting.

Way back I caught Winchester Defenders for 136.0 a piece and I have several including one with pistol grip.

But I hunt with 870. I really love the 870.

My Bil has pistols and AR but recently talked about a shotgun. He was looking at a VR 80..
I don’t know jack about that but I told him I would rather have a Used 1100 or an 1187 with a mag extension.

I don’t know Jack about the M4 Benelli
But if I did not mind the price I have no doubt it will do the job well.

This highly depends on the riot your going to encounter. Some situations a 50 BMG might not be enough....

. If it’s out side my home I got a few CS shotgun shells that might have an effect before I would grab anything else. This option would depend on the hostility of the crowd. If I might get bum rushed anyway, I am grabbing the biggest round but easy to maneuver thing I have that will be effective (aka would grab say .308 over 5.56 unless it’s dark and the thermal is mounted to the 5.56 weapon).

P90 has a nice 50rd mag, small, light weigh, easy to use in small spaces. Aug, more power, still small package. 50 bmg, if a racking 12 gauge scares the fuck out of people, what about a 50's concussion.

A semi auto shotgun with an extended mag or drum mag will lay out a lot of rioters instantly. I'd want something to finish off the survivors too = bayonet!

Just got my first AR and haven't had a chance to run it through its paces, zero it, etc., nor do I have much ammo for it since I finished it after the panic-buying started, so I'm not sure I'd be willing to rely on it under those circumstances. So in essence, it's like I don't have an AR.

I'll just keep using what I've been using, which is a FAL. Might even break out the 21" FAL to give it more reach with the bayonet (my go-to is a 17"), since compactness isn't going to mean much under the circumstances.

A Sig M400 and a Mossberg 590 are the exact firearms I have standing next to the headboard of my bed. In the safe are an 870, a Benelli Nova, AKs, more ARs, and a couple of SKSs. I wouldn't feel naked with any of them in hand.
