My 1942 Springfield M1 stoked with black tips. I make up for reduced round capacity by getting multiple pass throughs per shot in crowds while dispersing them with the glorious ping.

AK74. Factory 45 round mags, next to no recoil,relatively quick reloads(slower than an M4, faster than a shotgun.)

I really, REALLY like the 590 with the metallic trigger guard and safety button...also really like Steyer Aug in not an Ar15. There are plenty of really nice rifles out there to choose from, the list of what would be "acceptable" is quite long.

I always have a BREN 805 pistol in my POV and a good stock of green tip and tracer. And on most days my trunk is holding a Remington 700APR in 338 Win Mag. as well. I think I'll be ok despite leaving the AR's at home.

Mine are a couple John Browning designs. Ithaca M37 and a Browning Auto 5, both in 12 ga.

Work as good now as they did when they were made. The Auto 5 is nearing 85 years old (does have new springs in it) and the M37 is nearly 55 years old and all original.

If your using “riot gun” in the sense of “its for rioters” and not in the shotgun sense, I pick M1 carbine. If you mean shotgun, I pick 590 Mariner. I only have three shotguns, that one, an S&W riot gun and sawed off double barrel. The shorty is cool but it’d be a stupid weapon unless you had nothing else. I bet it would make people pee their pants when they saw it though.

I suspect most rioters could be dispersed pretty quick with a suppressed .22 used from a hide. Given the noise the rioters make a man could drop the ones in front in total silence and in the confusion pick off as many as he feels the need to at his leisure. Anything from a 40 grain lobotomy to "ow my balls" would be offered-up for his consideration.
