I feel like hammered dog shit (thanks little nephew for getting me sick, lol) and I think I should have one Glock.
I’ll put a RDS on it, but I’ll let GD tell me which model any why. Now back to regular fits of coughing. |
For me the ubiquitous Glock is a 17gen3
That being said if you're going to put an RDS on it....34gen5 |
47 MOS. Rds ready, and has the new modular fit between g19 and g17 slides etc.
I don't own a Glock, but I've fired a few. It seems that they have a different grip angle than about everything else. Am I wrong?
G45
ETA - if you are already set with 9mm handguns, then definitely a G20. 10mm is a damn fine caliber to have in one’s inventory. |
A G19 seems like the obvious choice if you only have one Glock. It has adequate mag capacity, it’s big enough to handle and shoot easily, and compact enough to conceal without much effort. My 17 and 45 take a little more effort to hide if I’m not wearing a big coat.

The popular answer will be G19 gen 5 MOD with a FCD plate and an RMR.
The correct answer is G20 gen 5 MOS with a FCD plate and an RMR. |
Glock 45MOS
Which is a 9mm for those unfamiliar with Glock model numbers |
The new 49 MOS is the perfect Glock
15-round capacity with a 17 slide If you don't care about the shorter grip, just buy a Gen 5 17 Attached File |

G19 Gen5 MOS is The One Glock if you want a factory optic cut. For what it's worth my personal favorite is my G26 Gen 3 with the old frying pan finish, but if you average out the size and features of every single Glock on the market I'm pretty sure you end up with a 19.

I have
G17 G19 G26 G34 G43 If I could only have one it would be the G17 |

19.
Your choice of gen, but Gen 5 is pretty nice. And MOS or buy an aftermarket slide that’s optic cut |
I suggest the 19 BUT, a 23 with the conversion barrel is the same as a 19, and you have the flexibility to switch back and shoot .40S&W or even .357 Sig. You can buy a G23 9mm conversion barrel for dirt cheap too.

Glock 29 is best all around, easy to carry and best millimeter. Glock 23/32 is most practical because of ability to swap calibers and carry/shoot. If you’re fine with 9mm only, 45 or 19 MOS
Depends on your needs............
concealed carry, duty carry, hunting, target shooting, home defense. have to decide if full sized, mid or compact size. Plenty of good choices and calibers. Best Wishes |

The 19 is probably the answer you’re gonna get the most, but I personally feel the 48 is the perfect sized Glock for ‘do anything’ usage.
It’s slim and svelte like a 1911 commander but without the weight. It points like a full size gun despite being a compact/slim. The downside is capacity, at 11 rounds, but let’s face it, with a reload (or even without one) it’s probably more than 99.9 percent of us will ever need. If I could only keep 2 pistols for the rest of my life they’d be a Glock 48 and an HK45C. In my opinion they represent the most reliable two carry guns available in both 9mm and 45, hammer fired and striker. |

I am new to Glock and in the past year bought a 19x gen5 and a 19 gen 3.
Both with stock triggers, I love how they shoot - both of them. My 19 is a Texas / Alamo themed burnt orange, so I kind of like that one better -but both shoot great. |

G19 Gen 5
Large enough to shoot at a world-class level, small enough to conceal. It might actually be the best CCW handgun in the world. Great range & defensive ammo options. Huge aftermarket & holster options. |

I would go with the iconic Glock 19 in gen 5 MOS. Put a Haloson SCS RDS on it and no plate needed. Regular sights also are viewable in lower window. Great combination.

Between several Glock 17s and my 43X with 15 rounds, I don’t shoot or use my other models much anymore. Either one of them.
