I can have pretty much any gun I want as long as it's a Glock 9mm. I have 5 of various models. The ones I actually carry daily are a G45 and a G43x.

I have a lot of Glocks but if I could only have one I’d have a hard time deciding between a Gen 2 G17 or a Gen 3 G22. Probably the Gen 3 G22 based on having an assortment of barrels for it and easily replaceable locking blocks. But I love my Gen 2 Glocks.

My vote goes out to a 19.
-large enough to handle easily (compared to the 26 which has little grip) -more magazine options to go from short enough to conceal to longboi hate sticks. -milled for RDS so optic is lower (plates are a compromise) -most aftermarket of all glocks -ideally gen 3 to the advantage of the parts situation but 3, 4 or 5 are acceptable if the grip works for you. If not, buy the gen 3 top end and any of the improved lower ends, put in the parts you want and go to town. It's not the best at any one thing except being most versatile. |

If only one, get a 19 MOS Gen 5 with night sights and a Holosun SCS MOS.
If you refuse to buy Holosun, then get a 19 Gen 5 and have the slide milled for your choice of optic. I believe that best all around handgun is a 4" barreled medium frame .357 Magnum revolver (S&W Model 19 for example) or the Glock 19. |

Of all the Glocks I have shot and/or handled the Gen 2 Glock 19 is my favorite. Second choice would be the Gen 5 Glock 17. Third choice would be the SF Glock 21.

I think the 47 is the best model Glock has made.
Also, for some off reason, it seems to have a smidge less recoil than my 17.5. I thought I was nuts, but a few people have said the same thing. Then go buy a 19.5 and you can mix and match. |

I was all Glock for most of my life.
Now I'm down to a PF45 IN 10MM with a Gen 3 G20 slide. It's almost perfect. Once the slide gets milled and RMR up top, it will be Perfection. |

I traded in a g26 for a G19. G26 felt like half the grip was hacked off. It was too akward to carry so i got a pocket 9mm and picked up a g19 for plinking and house.

OP,
If i wanted "just one Glock" and desired one fitted to accept something like an RMR, I'd suggest a G23 with a slide cut. I assume they make one. Reasoning: The 23 guts will allow at least three different caliber choices with simple barrel and mag changes. .357 sig is a fine caliber for self defence, but that ammo is increasingly expensive and rare. It does still remain my "woods carry" postol ammo of choice. A "40-9" conversion barrel will provide less expense for trigger practice at the range.and 33 round happy sticks full of 9mm. The stock .40 cal is also a very potent self defense round that i still often see on retail shelves. |
