For all the people mentioning House of Pain, go check out La Coka Nostra if you're not familiar. They're a supergroup that included Danny Boy, DJ Lethal, and Everlast from House of Pain, plus a dude named Big Left, ILL Bill, and Slaine. Big Left and Everlast are no longer in the group.
A lot of the songs on the first album have Everlast rapping but also singing a lot of the hooks, reminiscent of his Whitey Ford Sings the Blues record. Slaine (real name George Carroll) has also acted in a bunch of movies; most notably he played Gloansy in The Town, was also in Gone Baby Gone, and in Killing Me Softly, among others. Oh shit Everlast's playing a guitar and singing a melody! Fuck that rapper, right?
