Quoted: I carry a G17 daily and a G48 when I need to be a little more stealthy but have been thinking about getting a G19 to replace the 48. View Quote I carry a 19 but I wanted a small Glock, so I looked at the 42, but hate .380, so I decided on a 43, but for a little more length I can get 10 rounds in the 43X. The grip is the hardest to conceal so I can get better velocity and site radius from a 48, but then that's just a skinny 19 so that's what I carry. |

Plus after guys spend like $1,500 making their G19 more like a G17 it is kinda a reverse flex on them. |

I don’t think you understand what “flex” means. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not a synonym for debate. |

I haven’t made any cosmetic changes to my 19. It’s just a 19.
It’s not a showpiece, or a competition pistol, it has no accessories, red dots, or lights… it’s a utility weapon that I know will be reliable if I ever need it, like the vice grips in my tool bag under the seat. |

I'm not taking this shit from a guy who prefers to grip dozens of tiny dicks every time he shoots his SR15

Like I said, 9mm vs 45 is not apples to apples and not what OP is talking about. OP doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I think all those EV fumes have gone to his brain. Glock made the G17, realized it was too big to be perfection so the started chopping bits off of the grip, slide, and barrel until perfection was achieved, then called it the G19. Carrying a bigger handgun for the sake of it being bigger is dumb. I don’t see any advantage to a 17L over a 19 unless for whatever reason you shoot the 17 markedly better. |

Quoted: I recently (month ago) got my first G19 after YEARS on these boards. Going back the full-auto.com, listening to how G19 is the SHIT. it seems pretty good. The VP9/40 is better in every measurable area for me. Truth be told, for that time period, I think the USPc, P99/SW99, are on par or better. I belive all 3 are better than a stock M&P Mostly, I find the G19 ergos to be just as bad as I thought it would be. *my G19 is a finger groove Gen3 type, I tried a friends Gen4 without finger grooves and found it to be even worse for me. I stopped being a G 19 user about 3 months ago when I bought a used FN FNS 9C. I'm saving up for an FNX 9, I already have an FNX 45T. Does this make me an FN fanboi? |

Though I’ve never tried a firearm comped in such fashion whether it be factory or otherwise, my main concern about factory porting is placement - When shooting from low retention, their placement seems to readily jet gasses and unburnt powders towards the shooter’s face.
Screen shot grabbed off an Honest Outlaw vid via the web, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0kHTaqwhPKQ… ![]() Saying that, I have fired “bolt-on” comps from low retention without ill effect. They are generally designed whereby gasses and unburnt powders jet upwards so when shot from low retention they jet away at an angle. ![]() |

Comped G45 that is the same size as a 17 is a much better weapon.
Barrel length offers nothing, but a comp makes a big difference. |

OP is correct. Did not read further.
![]() Man sized hands don't even fit on a G19. A full size frame Glock in a MTAC rocked forward will conceal with no problem. 3rd Generation Glock 17 FTW. |

The G19X is the dumbest Glock ever. HK VP9, Walther PDP, and any other gun using a full size grip with a compact slide is just pointless. It’s literally the worst of both worlds.

I don't carry a G19 instead of a G17 for any other reason than this... 20 some odd years LGS had a green frame G17. Checked it out and and said Ill think about it. When I went back it was gone but the guy who bought it had traded in a mint gen 2 g19. I picked it up pretty cheap and that's why I have a g19 lol
Btw I checked a g45 mos and i think its a great gun. Always thought a g17 framecand g19 slide would be a nice package. |
