I don't hate or dislike Trump, I voted for him twice. I will say, I strongly & adamantly disagreed with his red flag laws & view on due process. I firmly believe that had he toned down his attitude a bit and use more of a filter, he would have easily won in 2020. Accept it or not, his schtick turns off a shit ton of conservative and independent voters. All that being said, I'm on the Trump train and will vote for him again. He might not be the President we want, but he's the President we need.

I voted for Trump. Twice. Begrudgingly both times. 2 things I dislike about him:
1) Attitude - he's an asshole. He's the quintessential New Yorker. They think they are better than everyone else. I hate that attitude. 2) Lack of Concensus Building Ability - he's used to being an authoritarian in his businesses. They are his business, he makes the decision, what he says goes, or get the fuck out of the way. And conceptually I can understand why he would think that would work in government as the President. But it doesn't. You have to convince people to join your cause. You have to build concensus that your policy or direction change is good for them. That's the only way you actually implement the great ideas you have. He doesn't have an ounce of this in his body and is the biggest reason many of the great things he wanted to do never was able to take off. But I'll vote for him again (as of today) because I don't see a better option. |

I’m don’t hate Trump any more than I hate a broken toaster. His ideology is bad (when it’s even coherent or consistent), his methods are ineffective, and he’s entirely unelectable.
The only metrics that matter—the only metrics that should ever matter—are 1) ideology, 2) efficacy, and 3) electability, and in that order. That’s it. It’s quite simple. |

I like Trump. I just wish he had the mental maturity to control his ego. He would be a lot more successful in politics if he did.
