Why does no one talk about the Springfield XD series?  Are they junk?

Everyone talks about Glocks, SW MP series, P320s, etc.

Pretty much no one mentions the Springfield XD series.  Are they junk?  Do they fall apart after 1000 rounds, where glocks can go 50k-100k?

Great package.

Back in the day the did something or other that upset someone or something.   Politics man, politics.

Better than Glock fo show. Accurate, reliable, comfortable to hold, 100% runs on anything you feed them (again, reliable). And as already said, a good package.

People don't like them because made in Croatia and grip zone. I have an XDs 9 that I've shot and carried a lot, it's a good gun. It got replaces by a P365.

Have an XDS9 for a summer carry gun and my buddy has an XDM9 that is more accurate for me than many of my own pistols.

XD in .40, that should really get the haters going!

My early XD 45 full size is the best shooting gun that I or anyone I let shoot it have enjoyed.

That being said, it is a massive gun and too big except  anything but the range.

I have no doubt they go bang when they should. I don't promote Springfield after what they did within IL political machine.

Absolutely this.

They are exceptional firearms though.  I do own and have for 15 years.

My early XD9 was reliable out of the box unlike my 4 gen G19. Eats anything I stuff in it.

The marketing needs to be "ribbed for your pleasure" only then would it get more sales than ever before...

Xdm .40 3.8 was my first gun, shot it well and had no issues but then I found sigs

Same with my XDS.45 great gun but traded up.

I did sell it my XDM, I'm kind of sad because it was my first gun but it was just kicking around. I now have a SA Hellcat that I CCW.

I bought a used XD .40 for my first handgun, because I didn’t read about guns on the internet back then so I didn’t know they are garbage and embarrassing to own. It’s at least 10 years later and I still have it and it still works fine, I like it, and hasn’t given me any problems.

I’ve shot a few and they seemed to be pretty decent but it just didn’t float my boat. Plus Springfield, ya know?

No they are not junk. Unfortunately I was unable to post before some yamhead offered a witty "Grip Zone" meme. They are solid pistols, despite the hate they get around here.

I have two, an XD 40 Tactical and a 5.25 XDM 9mm. Really like both of them, but the 5.25 is a favorite. I like the ergos better than a G34.

I carried one for years on duty and never had any problem.  Not one single fte, ftf etc the whole time shooting regular fmj or shitty old old ammo.  But I don't carry it ccw or havent really even shot it in a long time.  This is a xd45 tactical 5 inch before the xdm or the grip zone.

ETA:  Trigger is a little squishy but I would consider it a better trigger than non gen 5 glocks

I had the pre grip zone 9mm and it was great.  My wife had a 9mm SC.  Both have been sold off for Glocks but they are fine pistols I think.

The guns are fine, nothing wrong with a Croatian made pistol.  I don't like the fake "Since 1794" logo, it's obviously made to trick retards and fudds.  It seems in the gun industry that names get bought and sold a lot but the fake government arsenal Springfield Armory logo is annoying.

They also got caught doing antigun fuckery that would exclude themselves in IL along with RRA.

I liked them better as HS2000, Springfield put their name and GRIP ZONE on it, jacked up the price. People think they're made in USA lol

Between me and my two sons, we have many XD's.

Recently I did a 4 day pistol course at Frontsight, a full 25% of the pistols on my range were XD's. Zero issues. The last two guys remaining in the shoot off both were using XD's. Crap I guess........... grin!

I have an XDm9 and it's been more accurate and as reliable as many other similar polymer/striker pistols I've owned.

A friend has an XD in .40 that he carries daily. He prefers it to pretty much everything else he has.

Not sure if it’s changed in recent years, but Springfield playing games with factory parts probably doesn’t help.

Every single part should be easily available to the consumer.

Some folks who drink the flavor aid would rather have an empty glock than a loaded Springfield. My Springfields have performed fine.

They were sold under a different name before they were relabeled the XD series.

Early ones had rust issues, that being said, I never saw one that didn't run at the start of the 40 cal fad.

Had an XDS45 that had issues, Springfield wouldn't respond to inquires about getting it repaired and I walked away.

I have 2 XDs and 1 XDM.

I am very proficient with all. Prefer the XDM over my FN 509.

I just wish I could find a barrel conversion for the XDM .40 to switch to 10mm.

XD-M 10mm with 5" barrel is one of the best handguns I ever had. It has the best striker fire
trigger.

I had a Gen 1 OD lower and I chromed the slide since the finish sucked.

I enjoyed it, sold it. It was a safe queen since I carried by HK .40. Sold it and bought a GSG-5 with a bunch of mags and a case.

A lot of instructors were reporting seeing issues with student's xds.

I don't think they really saw serious adoption by military or police, which tells you a lot.
