I just bought one today because I had a holster that needed a gun.
Anyways, why do we not like it again? |
I like my 92 FS. Not my favorite gun, but was my first semi-auto.
Bulky and controls on the slide instead of on the frame. At least, those are two of the things those who hate it bitch about. Me, I like the gun.
By the way, where the hell are the pictures? |
My only issue with it is the slide mounted safety decocker. It is easy as fuck to shoot, and accurate.
I do wish the ones I am issued werent so beat to fuck. |
I myself have wondered about the bad rep.
I want one. Of course, I want a Sig P226 and 1911 also. |
Too big, too heavy, shitty trigger, slide mounted safety, DA first shot, breaking slides and locking blocks, not accurate enough to hit an Amish barn.
I love mine. |
So many parts for just a 9 mm. It's also very bulky. What does it do that the CZ-75, BHP or any other 9 mm pistol can't do?

Too big!
During failure drills "tap rack bang" it is easy of accidentally engage the decocker/safety. It is too big!! (Yet I own two of them! ) |
i could live with one but there are enough that i'd take over it.

I really hate that gun. Do you hate the gun, the magazines you were issued, or both? Or the ball ammo? lets say all of the above. Just a bulky pile of crap. I could never shoot that well. i hated that the .mil decided we had to have the safety on with a single/double action gun. Ridiculous. |
I'll go you one better, back in the 90s I had the Taurus copy. It was a good gun, I wish I'd kept it.
All I have to say is......Sig P226!......
That's my choice....... |
I have one,
I figured it would be cool to have the same nod. weapon I was issued when I was in the army That is why I also have a Ithica .45 |
If you get a good one it is pretty good.
If you don't it sucks the sweat from satans balls. |

I can understand some complaints, and many of those are simply a matter of personal preference but a couple gripes are utterly groundless: it is a quite accurate pistol for starters.
Because it is a fat-gripped, low capacity, slide mounted controlled, barrel breaking, mag-no-feeding, fixed sight POS.
How's that? |
3rd fav right behind the high power.
most hate on the mags yet the cx4 storms are reliable as heck for the capacity and caliber it is too big and too heavy but it is also all steel and that hurts the arf love of plastic crap pistols. |
Learned to shoot on a Taurus PT99 (frame mounted safety, Beretta 92 'clone'). Still shoot a Beretta better than most other guns....
Nothing wrong with it....and certainly there are better guns...depending on the situation. That doesn't make it a 'bad' gun by any means. |
I hate the FS version, especially with all of the plastic parts in them these days, but I like my all metal 92G - decocker only, the lever springs back up into the fire position. Cannot possibly be left on safe and go to a dead trigger.
That being said, it is a huge, heavy pistol for a 16 round 9mm. Get some Mec-Gar 18 rounders and much more worth it. It is a PITA to do a detail strip on it compared to my glocks, especially to clean out the FP channel and get the gunk out of it. As far a a DA/SA, I still like a sig better. |
I enjoy mine. Shoots easy. Reasonably accurate, pleasing to the eye and it's a Desert Storm Commemorative.

My first love!
Wanted one ever since the first time I saw Lethal Weapon! |
Out of the few firearms that I have shot, it's the one I like the most.
I have a 92f I got for my son to practice with before he went off to the military. It fits most all hand sizes and runs great and accuracy is actually pretty good.......but it's still just a 9

I think a lot of the hate comes from former military that only ever dealt with ones that were beat to hell already.
Slide mounted safeties are for savages.
It also has a grip that makes a Glock seem small. |
