Not saying they're exactly apples to apples, but Taurus had no problem retailing G2s and G3s around the $200 price point, and lots of choices from S&W, Stoeger, etc. aren't that much more expensive.  I'd question just how much they're losing.

Just under $200 per pistol.

Our Safariland holster system costs more than the gun.

No clue, but people have speculated for years how cheap Glocks really were to manufacture.  I'm betting Sig isn't losing too much. And if that's the case, they are really making bank on the Civilian M17s and M18s.

But nobody ever uses the modularity because the cost of buying everything (when you can find them) except the FCU is equal to just buying another 320- kinda like how people praise the versatility of an LPVO but leave it on one power.

I like Glocks. It is just the Austrian tears make things so much more fun.

SIG is dominating the small arms market right now. Glock tears flow and scream that they are junk and all other kinds of BS.

It just isn't "Big Army" in various nations that are choosing the "lowest bidder" either. SIG pistols and Carbines are being selected at units that can carry what they want.

It is no longer a "Glock world" and the fanboyz scream. It is fun to make fun of them...

I’m pretty well set on Glocks for full size carry guns but the 320 has really flourished into an awesome pistol…ecosystem?

The other weapons that were selected:

SIG MCX in .300 as a PDW.

The P320 XCarry Pro isn’t the only weapon from SIG Sauer that Australia has selected through LAND 159. The SIG Sauer MCX, in .300 Blackout calibre has also been selected as the Australian Defence Force’s new Personal Defence Weapon System. It’ll provide “dismounted combatants with a light, modular, and compact weapon system that can be rapidly optimised for specialised roles.”
View Quote

Interesting choice.

Benelli M3A1.

The Benelli M3A1 has been selected as the platform for the Combat Shotgun System requirement. The Australian Department of Defence’s announcement said “operable in semi-automatic or pump-action mode, it is complemented with a red dot sight and white light illuminator.”
View Quote

Accuracy International AX-SR

Barrett M107A1

In a few years they will purchase other new systems for the following roles:

Close Combatant Assault Rifle, Machine Guns, Direct Fire Support Weapons and Grenades.

I assume the SIG MCX in 5.56 will become the standard issue rifle. With them buying the MCX in .300 Blackout it makes a lot of sense they will just buy those for standard issue. I suppose SIG may get a contract for SIGs LMG design.

If the Australian Army had wanted a striker fired polymer framed pistol like a Glock, they should have just got the Glock.

Like a Glock? No. Like a VP70? Yes.

Glock isn't the first striker fired pistol. Neither was HK the first striker fired pistol either. But unlike Glock, HK was the first polymer lower striker fired handgun in 9x19.

Are you going to call all AR15's a Glock like copy too, now that they've done one finally for the British to trial?

Because I live in a communist state to start with. But I do own a Sig p226 MK25. Long ass reset in that bitch.  Plus I’ve never shot myself.

I’d put the SRT in it but I can’t find an authorized Sig smith in my area. Do it myself voids the warranty. My choices are send it back to Sig to get the work done or sell it.

Hmmm, this argument doesn't add up... XD's are great in my experience, so I guess this is really a glowing endorsement of the P320!

But that confuses me... P320's don't have the grip zone! (I like Springfield handguns, but I couldn't resist haha).

The only thing that they have in common is the name. But what do I know? I only comment on things I have actual actual experiences with. Now you on the other hand...

And I own a P226 Mk25 myself. Not even close to having the same trigger pulls and resets.

All the modular bits and doodads get tossed in a box in the armory. In reality they’re as useless as a Grip Zone.

To be fair the holster is tier one, extremely high quality, and reliable. Unlike the pistol that rides in it.

I've fired two quals on the M17, expert both times. I mean, it's a pistol. I didn't have any particular love nor hate for the M9, I have no particular love nor hate for the M17. I point at targets, pull trigger, the target tends to go down. What more would you like a pistol to do? It's a backup weapon.
