I've known Mike (mic209) for about 12 years. We worked together until 2015 when he moved out of state. He is a damn fine husband, father of two beautiful girls, and all around fantastic human being. Earlier this year, he had a stiffness in his hip, after a while, it started to become painful. He had to wait over a month to get into the Dr., and it was discovered he had a fracture where his leg met his hip. Fast forward to last week, it was discovered that a tumor was the cause of the fracture. After further analysis, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. As I type this, he is in surgery to remove the tumor and start reconstruction of the joint. He will then start chemo therapy after letting the leg heal for a couple of weeks. They also said he will be needing a bone marrow transplant after a couple of months. He will be out of work for at least 6 months. I feel sick about this, and wish there was more I could do. I know the power of Arfcom, and the Cola Warrior community. We take care of our own. I told him to get rested up, and call me when he feels well enough to talk after surgery, and we'll get some fundraising efforts going. I have permission to post a link to his Fundly page set up by some other friends of his, as well. I will send him a link to this thread, and I'm sure he will chime in when he feels well enough to. Thank you Striker for approving this. Fundly Link The Raffle: Tickets will be $5 each (no maximum, buy as many as you want!) The drawing will be held on November 7th. Some items will be standalone prizes, some of the smaller items will be grouped into prize packages. Once all items are figured out, I will post pictures of the groupings. To purchase tickets, you can Paypal with a note included with just your username (please no mention of raffle/icky guns, etc.) to p2tharizo(at)yahoo.com or, you can send a check or money order (please include username) to the following address: B. Turner PO Box 6338 Kingman, AZ 86402 The Prizes: There are SIX SSA-E's up for grabs. These are etched with the Cola Warrior logos (depending on event), and are factory sealed from Geissele. Here are the just cut paddles for the TEAM EMILY and HARVEY fund raiser hostage setups. I'm swamped right now, but I'll try to get a pic of an assembled unit up if someone doesn't have one on hand to post for me. Attached File

In for 2x.
If I win a trigger, tell your wife to keep hers. I'll take the MOA leg, though. |

I cannot personally participate but I'd gladly buy the tickets for him.

I could be mistaken, but I think USPS flat rate boxes will go to europe. No-go on the trigger, but I can't imagine ITAR covers a flat piece of steel. Maybe I just have a lack of imagination tho. View Quote |

45 tickets sold so far....and thanks to LinggrrLonggrr, we've now got a fourth SSA-E trigger for the raffle!
I have some more goodies coming up, but I'll wait until I can get some pictures, I'll be updating the OP. |
|
In for 5. Well done OP, a good friend you are.
Best wishes Mike! |

OP, I want to make sure I have this right, so I can both hit his fund link and then PayPal directly to your email for the raffle correct? Or do I just hit the fund link and then hit your email saying I did?..Not like I am rich or anything, but I gotta try and help somehow...

I will donate a nice custom laser engraved cherry or mesquite plaque (winner's choice what they want on it) if you want to add that to the prize list. Something 6x8ish.

Yep. If you want to donate directly, you can use the Fundly link. If you want tickets, just do $5 increments to my Paypal with your username, as I will record the drawing, and some people might not want their names announced. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

You're mistaken. Weight gets capped at 7 lbs for Canada, and I don't think works in Europe at all. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I gave my privilege trigger to Josh for Team Emily and I got no cash, but I'll donate the marrow if there's a way to do that.
