Quoted: I wanted a car that has AWD and a manual transmission. Besides a Porsche 911 4s, there are two other cars that qualify, GR Corolla and Golf R. Both are generally unavailable with additional dealer markups. In 2006 ,I bought my wife a WRX wagon. Two years later, I built a new in box engine [520 crank HP] A complete gear set from Australia, brakes and suspension.
I mostley drove it on the street but did track days with it. Amazing car. Enjoy. |

So please tell us, in terms of buying for a daily driver not a weekend car.
1. How are the seats? Comfortable for a long ride? 2. How is the ride on lousy roads? 3. Brake feel? Steering feel? 4. Road and wind noise. I have a 2022, Outback Onyx XT and I think the engine, hvac will be similar between the two cars. A manual trans and a bit more spirt would be a great daily driver. Seats are the best with no fatigue after 11 hours. Ride is great even on bumpy roads. Wind and road noise are pretty damn quiet but the Touring and limited are quieter due to laminated front door glass. Actually drives pretty good despite soft suspension once you get used to the slight body roll. Turbo is gutsy with great bottom end and engine is very smooth and really powerful as it revs. Climate control is excellent though it shouldn't all be in the infotainment. Parking maneuvering is excellent with the steering allowing a surprisingly small turning radius. Brakes are good but a bit meh linearity of feel. Throttle response can be a bit like an accordion at times and not direct. Its not a lack of power availability or a transmission problem. It's more like you sometimes get way more than you thought and sometimes not as much as you expected. Really, that was and the hvac controls are the only things I would change. Overall, the car is great enough in all other aspects that those things are easily overlooked. I am driving a rental Audi A4 on vacation and I have to say I prefer the Subaru overall because the Audi seats, front room, mirrors, forward vision, annoying and useless TPMS are actually a deal killer. Throttle and brake feel and response are nice but there isn't anything pulling me to this car especially considering additional cost. |

I added an ETS muffler delete. It’s loud on cold start but then quiets down. It’s surprisingly quiet when just puttering around, but it gets really nasty above 3000 rpm. Redline shifts bring loud pops, almost like a gunshot. The first time I got a pop it scared the shit out of me. When I realized what it was, I laughed like a little girl! This thing is an amusement park ride on wheels,

About the only reason it really sounds any different is because everyone else moved to mounting the turbo practically directly on the head and that changed the sound, arguably for the worse. |

Quoted: There were head gasket problems with previous generation engines View Quote There is going to be problem with every generation of wrx. I had the previous generation STI great car I waited for the new one after I sold my last STI.
1. They never released a new STI 2. Hard pass on the new one… GL with new ride what matters is that you like it. |

Amongst my favorite cars was a WRX.
I would get black because of the trim but nice car. There are a lot of people who merge onto the interstate going 55 and stop at yield signs in this thread. We see you. |

Did you get a matching vape pen and white frame sunglasses with a bb flat bill hat?
I'm probably beat but I'm not reading 5 pages about a wrx lol. Wrx are cool cars ruined by the majority of dbags who drive them who think they are way faster than they are and a legit rally car. |
