Anyone done anything with mags/magwell to prevent using live ammo? I've seen blank-only magazines - which would help with a visual check at least.

What sights are available for the can cannon? I see SkilletsUSMC has a red dot and leaf blade, but what else is there? Which leaf blades are compatible?

I thought that the way X products and Im assuming F5 makes these it will not accept a live round due to the pinned and welded chamber.

YES! I've been wanting a can cannon for a couple years, but too cheap to pay the price. Just ordered the F5 soda launcher and 200 blanks. Thanks for the link.

Does anyone know of a cheap airsoft quadrant red dot sight? Or quadrant adjustable Picatinny rail I can mount my own inexpensive Primary Arms micro to? Most out there, genuine or knockoff, seem to be the M203 side mount type and not Picatinny. And I'd like to spend less than the launcher for it. I'm looking to replicate a poor man's Milkor M2A1. Although I think that an entire 12oz can filled with bb's would be excessively heavy. And even if it wasn't dangerous, the shot would fly even slower than a beverage csn. But yeah, I've been thinking about this too, and about putting four razor slits down the sides of the can so it opens up like a shotgun wad cup. I'd probably use something like a cylinder of foam, styrofoam or building insulation foam, to fill most of the can up. Then have that covered with a cardboard disk so the shot used didn't just crush it's easy into the foam. Just having the top 1-2" of the can be shot, gravel, marbles, hard candy, whatever, would still be a significant quantity of crap flying downrange. |

Just got my F5 manufacturing upper delivered!
It does NOT chamber a live round. Bolt will not close. I have a 10rd clear lancer magazine that I think I will dedicate for this upper. It's the only Lancer I have and looks different from the rest. Unfortunately I do not have any 12oz cans in the house. Threw it on an extra lower I had lying around.

I'lll probably pick up one of the F5 thingies, even if the X-products version is longer (and probably better because of that). I would just like to support a real pro 2A company coming in to compete.
A few thinks I have found/liked about can cannons for people getting in to one of these now: -Shoot soda cans with the lid-side-in. They are much less likely to kaboom in the tube. As in it never happens to me anymore. -The 8oz cans are moar funner to shoot because they go way further. ~130yds vs 100yds with the normal 12oz cans -Getting a leafsight and an inverted stock may look kind of weird, but it makes shooting it feel normal. Think "ghetto M79." -The recoil is pretty impressive. More than any rifle or shotgun out there minus the more exotic guns like a .50. -bring gloves and a few trash cans. |
