Carry concealed everyday? Colt 1903. Good enough for Bogey.
If not that then a snobby revolver. |

OP did not think this through. Of course everyone picks the 1911, given its track record. That includes the dudes carrying a 1911 in 2023. Lol.
Edit- I would take the 1911 |

Quoted: Why does this thread have no poll? 1911 or P-35 My 1945 Colt CMP 1911A1 https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/472/5333_Web_1200_72psi-1959513.jpg View Quote That would work for me. 1911 given that old 9mm was a little anemic. Or if I was truly going for concealed, a Colt 1903 or Savage 1907. |

Quoted: I actually do carry a 1903 pocket hemmerless kind of a lot, so probably that. This one has the hammer and firing pin updated to the 1927 pattern drop safe versions, I made a tall front sight, cut the rear out for Novaks, extended safety, and threaded barrel. Carries well, shoots like a laser, negligible recoil, boringly reliable, and a great suppressor host. https://i.imgur.com/ocrfVBe.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/UiyTB5N.jpeg View Quote That’s extremely cool! |

I do that now half the time.
My rotation includes the following: 1911A1 .45 ACP FN Hi-Power 9mm Walther PPK .380 ACP Walther PP .32 ACP S&W M1917 .45 ACP Colt M1917 .45 ACP Colt M1903 .32 ACP FN M1922 .32 ACP S&W .38 Terrier .38 S&W S&W .38 Double Action .38 S&W S&W Model 1903 .32 S&W Long S&W Model 1902 .38 Special Colt New Service .45 Colt S&W Model 27 (it is a post war production gun because S&W changed their designations to model numbers in 1957, but the Model 27 is the same as a prewar .357 Registered Magnum) Colt Detective Special .38 Special Colt Cobra .38 Special Colt Police Positive Special .38 Special Colt Official Police .38 Special S&W Victory Model .38 Special Walther P-38 9mm Erfurt P-08 Luger 9mm Colt 1873 .45 Colt But out of my bunch, I'd probably stick with my Colt M1903 and S&W Model 1903 for concealed carry. The one still carried in 2023 is the 1911. Some are masterpieces of machinery. Just fondled two Staccatos that left me breathless and wanting a 2011 now.

Well, I already carry a 1911 (although not one that was made in 1945 or before), so I'd definitely pick that.

Quoted: A BHP, Colt 1908, or maybe a Schofield set up like my current Uberti repro: https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/129976/F4078151-829D-4183-BD89-7B14A871221D-2472958.jpg View Quote Never seen a T-grip on a Schofield, but I'll say it makes sens, looks good and almost certainly improves handling characteristics of that gun. If that's an original idea, bravo. If it's a copycat (like mine would be if I had one) worthy mimic. |
