the last 20 deals or so have all been regular price or oos for me. it looks like a lot of the clearance has dried up around me. i wonder if a lot of the stores have discounts on hold until after black friday?

Weird brickseek behavior for me. Stock quantities stopped displaying on some items and on one item I have been watching for a drop, most stores are no longer even showing up in the search. And many stores had 3 in stock then poof.
Both Dexter and Brickseek. Different devices too. |

The Samsung tablet doesnt show any amounts on brickseek now. The MSI gaming laptop either. |

Just yesterday, poked around the sporting goods when I was early to an eye appointment. (Cedar Park WalMart)
Winchester 9mm steel case FMJ in the 150 rd box, $21. Bought 4. (The 50 rd box was $8.58 ) Federal 30-30 was $8, bought 5. Federal .243 was $11. bought 4. All the Remington hunting loads in 30-06, .243, .308 and .270 were priced at $12.99 There were some shotguns marked down (Maverick 88 for $149) and I thnk Savage has a rebate on the Axis priced at $299 but I didn't really look too closely at the gun rack. If you apply for a WalMart credit card at the time of transaction you get $35 off. |
|

For my efforts was able to get the mossberg 500 20g combo for $154 and a 2 man ladder stand for $50 but the $35 chest freezer couldn't be found and good luck getting anyone to find crap in the back they said it was slammed to the rafters with black Friday junk

On pricing differences between stores/regions... This is simplified, but my experience from working multiple retail jobs for over a decade.
It is all computer controlled based on store sales and possibly product age/version(for the most part). Walmart prices things more specific to region.. where as most normal stores clearance all of one thing based on age/movement in every store. For walmart if something is moving in one store, they will leave the normal price.. if it is stagnant in another store, say due to location/demographic needs, they will get rid of them and replace its space in the store with something else that they think will sell. Walmart has always gotten rid of things that dont sell really fast so they can get something else that will sell, in. Then there are also issues where the product never changed but the upc/sku has for some reason.. so you have old stock with the old number on it.. maybe clearance priced, and the new stock with the new number on it at full price... to the computer they are technically to different items and treated as such. And yes..sometimes the prices have dropped but the products have not been marked down physically yet. That job is actually quite daunting. I used to work in a sporting goods store and every week get hundreds of price changes to go though that I had to mark up or down.. and if it was up we had to sharpie over the old price and re-tag it... pretty time consuming. |

These deals are never available in my area... |

I'm not sure how Walmart checks in their inventory. Looks like they would do so by the packing list, or automatically when the shipment arrives, but I've had several stores where everything has been dead on accurate except the Fusion 30-30. View Quote Also had one Leupold vx2 I was trying to pick up where we finally determined someone sold it but put it in a rifleman box. We found the last vx2 box under the counter empty, and there was a rifleman on display with no box. I bought the other Leupold (display model, and it was a massive effort to talk them into selling it) and the lone Nikon Monarch from this store. The Nikon we couldn't find, but they took my name and it turned up hidden away in the back a few days later when they did a massive cleaning and they actually called me. Awesome old lady at that store. The last vx2 still showed in stock when I went back to pick up the Nikon, but was indeed not in back and neither was the Rifleman box, so we figured out the mystery. Funny thing is that vx2 still showed in stock on brickseek LONG after all others had been cleared out within a few hundred miles of here. I bet several folks wasted trips looking for that one. I actually kinda wondered if someone finally bought that rifleman, and they put in the vx2 box and sold it at the $74 price and that's why the vx2 stock finally went to zero. Not as good as a vx2, but still would have been a nice deal for a rifleman scope. |

There are 3 of the $89 Pardner shotguns in stock at Rindge NH. Call first if it's a long ride. Today I heard a sales associate telling a customer that only two people are currently qualified to sell guns and some days they're both off.

Picked up the muddy girl 243 and savage 22mag today. Dry fired the 243 a little and it is a little gritty and a bit heavy but a $15 trigger spring kit will lighten it up and a 7-8yr old won't notice the grittiness in the trigger so no big deal there. It came with a Bushnell scope that has good enough glass quality. Tomorrow I'll go sight it in with some $11.97 Federal 100gr ammo. I'm hoping the recoil won't be too much for my niece, she is on the smaller side.
I need to pick up some scope bases for the 22mag so I can mount one of the cheap 22 scopes I have laying around on it. |
