I actually did get a a quarter of a milk cow locally that barely made it to the slaughterhouse after having trouble calving; local farmer called and offered her up at $3/lb all ground.  The meat was very, very lean, almost like venison, but other than that just tasted like beef.

- Amos Miller, an Amish farmer and owner of Miller’s Organic Farm just 150 miles from Washington, D.C., has been under the USDA’s microscope since at least 2015.

- It was the National Organic Program from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that first launched an investigation in 2015, seeking all the food club’s purchase records and a list of members who pay a premium to get food from an independent farmer who doesn’t process meat and dairy at a USDA facility.

- Miller has helped organize private food clubs where individuals can purchase produce, dairy, and meat from traditional farmers; the Department of Justice (DOJ) seems intent on stamping them out.

- While Miller produces and sells organic meat, dairy, and eggs, “experts” are pushing fake junk food for billions in profits, including the current “sustainable, plant-based” consumables that resemble convenience store food more than whole food.

- Concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) meat, dairy, and eggs are also not the answer to a healthy society and environment. There is a better solution and Amos Miller is using it—regenerative farming has a lower carbon footprint than either CAFOs or plant-based products, protects human health, and improves the environment.

Active tuberculosis reported at Oxnard Amazon facility

A worker at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Oxnard has been diagnosed with active tuberculosis, and though scores of people were possibly exposed to the disease, Ventura County Public Health said the general populace is safe.

Public Health said in a Thursday press release that the diagnosis was recent and that about 180 people were potentially exposed.

On Monday and Tuesday, the VCPH Tuberculosis Program coordinated with Amazon to notify employees and offer educational programs. Free testing for close contacts will be offered next week.

TB is primarily a lung-based disease caused by bacteria that are spread by activities like coughing and sneezing, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The primary treatment for TB is antibiotics, though “some forms of the bacteria no longer respond well to treatments,” the Mayo Clinic noted.

People who are infected with TB typically contain inactive bacteria in their bodies, preventing transmission, according to VCPH.

However, about 10% of those infected become sick with an active infection at some point, allowing the disease to spread.

Another case of active tuberculosis was reported in a Riverside County child on Thursday. The unidentified student at Raymond Cree Middle School in Palm Springs was briefly hospitalized, then allowed to continue recovery at home.

International Man: What happens after a crisis? Is there a positive way forward?

Doug Casey: Historically, the answer is, “Almost never”—in the short run. The best recent example is the French Revolution. It got worse with Robespierre—a Bernie Sanders of the era—followed by Napoleon. Or take the case of the Russian revolution. As necessary as it was to get rid of Nicholas II, it got worse with Lenin, and then it got even worse with Stalin. But even in those cases, France and Russia recovered.

If it all comes unglued in the US over the next decade, those two revolutions could be templates. Look at the way leading Democrats think, and listen to what they’re saying. They’re echoing Robespierre and Lenin.

The Republicans aren’t much better, because although they sometimes talk the talk of peace and personal freedom, they almost never walk the walk. The two major US parties—and people in the Red counties and the Blue counties—seem to really hate each other.

It’s quite ugly sociologically. There are irreconcilable differences. They’re exacerbated by the fact we’re headed for a financial blow up. There’s no doubt about that.

Some years ago, there was a poll taken among Generation X types. It turned out that more of them believed that space aliens were going to invade than that they were ever going to collect Social Security. People have very little faith in “the system” anymore, the society, or the government.

If we go back to the beginning of the 20th century, the country really wasn’t very political at all. People worried about their own lives, their own families, and their own local communities. Americans shared a common culture, beliefs, and values—that’s no longer true. Now the country has become very politicized—everybody has a loud voice and they use votes as weapons against their neighbors. It’s become a nation of nasty busybodies.

That makes me think the next upset will be something like a revolution. It’s likely to be really ugly, because we’re looking, simultaneously, at an economic catastrophe, political chaos, and a social and demographic upset—and probably a military situation as well. Government often sees war as a way to unite the country.

So, what’s going to happen?

I’ll hazard a guess that 50 years from now, the United States and, for that matter, most countries are not going to exist in anything like their present form. The best solution is a peaceful break up into smaller political subdivisions. As opposed to a civil war—which is a contest between one or more groups for the control of a central government.

I know, but apparently the government doesn't know that or else they wouldn't keep trying to pass anti-gun legislation.

I hope I’m wrong because I believe that Taiwan is 1000x more important to defend than Ukraine ever hoped to be, but as time marches on and the more I see, I’m becoming more and more cynical about pretty much everything.

Our inaction over Taiwan could be the pivot point where bad things around the world start occurring at an alarmingly noticeable rate.

I really do hope I’m wrong.

I’m of the opinion that the government does know as they have been pushing us towards any violent response from the Right so they can initiate whatever they have planned.

Gun control is just another one of those tools to push us further into that corner and force a reaction.

Again, they are always proactive while we are always reactive.  The more they can control our reaction, the more they can control the outcome.

I watched Three Days of the Condor on Pluto last night. It’s sad to watch a movie for entertainment & escapism and instead get a dose of what may have been fantasy & speculation at the time, is now looking more like standard operating procedure except now, they are completely against the values we had back then.

I told you I was becoming more cynical.
