That's an interesting design. Really don't have to worry about it opening in your pocket I suppose.

Pretty neat though

The triple thick in particular is something special. I don't know anyone else doing it and it really helps mix up the bacon routine because it is so thick, more like a steak.

I love the simple beauty.

But what the fuck would I do with it if I can't put it in my pocket?

I actually had one in my cart when I bought the Spartan Babe. Took it out before proceeding on the Babe.

If I saw one on the cheap, I would probably grab it.

Miles better than Fort Henry.

And it is coming from Finland.

Over a holiday weekend.

Oh, and they pulled the listing for mine so they could put up another "custom" one that LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE MINE.

Same pictures, same description. So...not really custom.

I have a slab of unsliced bacon in the freezer. I could probably simulate the thickness but that smoke on their bacon is excellent.

OK, need to update my review on this mug.

First off, I did not need a death wish mug. They have some that go for ridiculous money, none that really tickle me. No interest.

This one however, caught my attention because it was Made in the USA, but I could not tell by whom, understated design, so I thought I would check it out since I was ordering beans anyways.

Got it and was nonplussed by the overall finish, unfinished bottom and narrower base. I like the wider base on my Deneens and Sunset Hill mugs. Those have better overall finish too.

HOWEVER, this one scored beau coup points today when I ran out of the house to get parts to install the new dishwasher and the tapered bottom SITS IN MY CUP HOLDER.

Well damn, my other mugs just slide around. I tend not to drive with coffee, but sometimes I don't get to finish before running out the door. This one fit an unthought of niche.

Still don't know who made it.

One of those days...

Roberta, our dishwasher, had served us faithfully for 12 years. She was a cheap basic whirlpool model that came with the house.

I know other people that complain non stop about their expensive fancy dishwashers not getting the dishes clean, despite taking hours to run a load of dishes.

Roberta had a "light" mode that would get a full load of dishes clean, every time. She was very good about getting everything clean. She was loud, a bit violent sounding even, but the dishes were always clean, in as little as 30 minutes.

Last four or five years she started getting finicky about starting, but she always would after a few smacks. Maybe not in the mode you wanted, but, she would start. Over the years I had to work on the racks a number of times because they would rust out in places and need to be resealed. New racks cost as much as a new dishwasher, so it was always worth it since Roberta did such a good job.

Then in March, she stopped. Lights came on, but would not start. No matter how hard we hit her.

Then she started back up a couple days later. Still finicky about starting, but ran fine.

Then in July she stopped. Nothing would get her going again.

So we went to the appliance store. Told them what we wanted. Well, what the wife wanted. She wanted stainless front. I just wanted a Bosch. They said not until December, supply chain issues. But we have this white front Bosch on display that we got in yesterday.  It is the only one we have. It is the only one we will have for some time. We will sell it to you at full price if you want but you will have to come back in a few days after we uninstall it.

Well, I am not doing all our dishes by hand, so the answer was pretty simple.

Picked up the new dishwasher and brought it home.

Then Roberta started working again...

Then we left for NC. Jesus offered to install it when they were staying here taking care of the dag, but I told him no, there may be other issues behind it to address, there is a bad draft from under the dishwasher in winter, I want to do it.

Then we were slamming busy every day doing something after we got back.

But today, I took the time to pull Roberta and put Bosch in.

There were issues to address, but not as bad as I was expecting.

Bosch is in and already ran for 2+ hours to do a load...but everything came out clean at least. Very quiet too. Almost...unsettling.

I thought it would be sad as I cut Roberta up for the garbage, but it wasn't. She had a good run. It was her time.

Here's to Roberta.
