440C stop pin is pulling double duty. Stops it in open position and it stops the blade from contacting G10 spacer when closed.

Pretty much done with what I need to do today, will probably heat treat the blade this evening once it’s dark.

Yeah, my first time using them. No thrust washer on the titanium side and the blade should be relatively wear resistant, but this is a prototype.

I want to figure out where the wear surfaces and patterns are with this one. I’m using it as a pathfinder so I can maybe make some folders to sell in the future. I don’t like making knives for customers that I haven’t made for myself before, I prefer to not experiment with customer’s knives.

Does it stick to steel better than blue though?

I have issues with dykem coming off while I'm grinding. It'll flake off after a bit and it's annoying. I'm not sure if it's too thick or if it doesn't like hot/wet/cool cycles from the grinding. I even wipe my blades down with alcohol before I put the dykem on.

I just know when I put layout on something that the more I handle it the more it will come off, so I’m usually gentle with it if I really need to follow the layout.

When I did the take-down construction knife I handled all the fittings very carefully until I was to the hand fitting stage

Two knife set Tuesday! My wife bought this for me on our fifth anniversary. Knives of Alaska. Turns out it was a company in Texas, and I found that out when I went to the Knives of Alaska store in Anchorage. They told me they had a current law suit against the Texas company over the name.Attachment Attached File

I bought this thing only because there's a specific Glock shoot my company might get a team together to participate in.

In no way, shape, form or fashion do I like it. The only two things I can appreciate about it is that it is in 45 ACP and it will probably be very reliable.

I hate Glocks. They're soulless blocks of steel and plastic. I have screwdrivers I like more.

Reassembling that is going to involve a lot of playing with your balls.

Or, as Wade Wilson once said, "It's time to put balls in holes."

It's a lot of fun, but time consuming. The benefit is that the resulting syrup should be better than anything commercial. You need to find an efficient way to cook it though. It could cost you more in fuel to make it than buy it.
