Loook for a food truck on the side of the road. Pull off. Ask for a “burro percherón” or a “caramelo” or tacos of whatever or a Sonoran dog. They should have at least one of those options. If they don’t get back in the truck and try again.

That's how I do it too but I have one or two that might need tweaked a bit so maybe I'll try the other way and see if it works better on those ones.

This year I’m going to move away from taking orders, and just make/sell what I like.

I’ve said that every Christmas season for the past dozen years or so. This time it’s a done deal though. I should be on vacation right now.

Portillos (around here) are an Italian beef chain that happens to have dogs. The dogs themselves are very good and have a decent snap to them. But the buns are trash and their relish is neon green. They make an awesome cake shake though.

Yup. I don't eat much chocolate but that shake is pretty tasty (now I want one dammit). Didn't realize they expanded out that far. When they opened a local place, the cops were directing traffic into the place for the first month. Even now the lines can get nuts even with 2 lanes and 2 pickup windows.

This reminds me I was passing through an area where I know a GREAT restaurant and I stopped in to get my usual 3 green enchiladas and 1 Chile relleno. I told the waitress twice, cheese in them all. What came out was ground beef in them all. Beef. My 8 hour anticipation to eating their amazing cheese relleno and cheese enchiladas was ruined by some chick that couldn’t transmit a verbal order into a written ticket. It wasn’t good either. But hey, she took $1.30 off my order.
