Well that was a fun little experiment in reverse engineering and thin part holding. I'll be looking around for something nicer than 6061 aluminum for the permanent set of scales now that these are dialed in. Maybe Titanium but $$ or some neat looking composite that can handle being cut down to only 0.085" thick and still maintain some structural integrity.

Yup it was fun, I like little challenges like this. Holding the scale on the side with the clip for the final operation was the most difficult part. That scale is only .085" thick to accommodate the thickness of the liner lock. I needed that scale to stick up roughly 0.030" above the top of the vise to face it down to final thickness. With the 0.035" deep chamfer around the perimeter, that left me with only a 0.020" tall flat edge to grip on.

It was good, but can't get past how dense these are. I made some regular ones and split one and made a ham and cheese. Couple bites in and I was stuffed after eating the cheese one.

I know, I feel the same way. I tried making some really thin ones, and that helped, but then they were pretty much impossible to split. I may try making some with whatever filling I would have used just mixed into the dough.

Thanks, I hope to make a couple more sets that look even better that I'll actually carry. I always enjoyed carrying that knife since it was so thin. The original clip screws stripped out many years ago and when I contacted Klotlzi to see if they could help me get it repaired they basically told me to pound sand. It'll be nice to carry it again even though the 440C blade is mediocre. It serves everyday pocket duty just fine.

Yep. Just got done with seconds. The home and sriracha complement each other with the sweet and hear. The sweet potatoes do the same with the sweet and smoky paprika. Simple ingredients and simple meal, but so damn tasty and filling.

The 10 is a go to for the money, but the Lasanta is really really nice - I need to get some more too. I liked it better than the Nectar D'Or.
