I'm not sure where I got the information on how to go about it but the first one is made from a file that I softened by tossing it in the wood stove overnight and I hardened it by building a fire and blowing my shop vac into it. I don't remember for sure what I quenched it in but it was probably used engine oil. I didn't know that I needed to temper it. A 64 Rockwell C chisel skates on it. I'm amazed I didn't break it. The handle scales are made from canvas that I laid up with fiberglass resin and clamped between 2x4s in my press.

The most recent one is 1095 hardened to ~61 hrc and hollow ground with walnut scales with g10 pins and lanyard tube.

I completely blew past my 40k mark. I was going to do something big alike a dramatic exit, or start searing and being negative again and since I lost the most, I guess I am stuck where I am.

Oh sugar nuts!

Thank you.

That one is actually hollow ground as well, it's just hard to see because it was on a ~2" wheel on a 4x36" belt sander.

You silly guy, you know that isn't how I roll. I'm a hugger. To the point it makes many people feel uncomfortable.

Also, you know I live in this thread right? No need to @ me. I'll see it in a few, and of course I would never miss anything you have to say buddy!

I'm not sure I like this new system. It says "Make an offer" on secretwheelman's post. If I post something, it is for sale at the price I am asking, not open to bidding. We have too many tire kickers as it is.

And this ties back directly to the comment I made prior to seeing the new system.

This does not sparkle with me.

I'm confused on that as well.

I see there's still a way to post a comment, but I don't know if that works the same as the old EE and has the feedback system tied to it.

If you read the explanation post, when something is listed for sale you can select whether to accept offers or not. If you say no, then the make an offer option is limited to the asking price only.

You can see the progress in style and technique. Although reading about how the first one was made it may have been some secret black art you stumbled on.

Clones are illegal. EE rules state no illegal items.

To be clear, it is not just something that looks like a microtech, it actually says microtech and m390 even though it is not. Illegal.
