I was on West Virginia for work and stopped at a McDonald’s with a coworker for something to drink one morning. The entire restaurant dining room was filled with presumably retired people in that town just drinking coffee and talking. It seemed to be the place to socialize in the area. I always thought of retirement as being an old guy sitting in a McDonald’s drinking coffee and talking about the weather and my garden with other retired people. Then after a couple hours of chit chat you go home and watch the price is right and dust the house.

I think you’re retirement is close to my perception of retirement.

There are definitely different groups of retired people that do exactly that at all the different places in town here including McD's, the various gas stations that have a seating area, the "corner cafe" type restaurant, etc. The truck stop cafe used to be a big one before it closed down. There were three different shifts of retired folks that would all hang out there, roughly from 6-8, 8-10, and 10-noon.

Kapara is a great knife. As is typical of spyderco, the knives designed outside of spyderco are their best knives. The Kapara is one of the best spyderco knives made and I'd even say that it’s the best example of a compression lock knife they make.

I was just watching this collection video. It's 1:15 so I don't expect anyone else to watch it except maybe OP, so TLDW - Rick was one of the first people to just collect guitars just to collect them and he started when the vintage stuff was still readily available. Some incredible rare stuff is presented. If you just watch the intro, at 3:50, some shelves in that room are probably > a millions worth.

I really like compression locks. If I were to ever look at another spyderco the Kapara would be a candidate for sure.

Clicked the risky link. That’s a huge burger and way too many fries. Looks good. Last time I was in your area I ate White Castle for the first time and it made me physically ill. Would have liked to have eaten that instead.

What’s the deal with only over 21 after 10pm? Is that a city ordinance?
