Yep, that's the most suitable kit to go to Popeyes here as well.  Nearly always like that.  But it is SO worth getting into a running gunbattle for.  Not only is it better that CFA (not that CFA is trash) but it is cheaper as well.  And it's certainly the best chicken sandwich on Sundays.

Interesting.

I know Bos has a great rep for dialing in the HT process and for consistency in the process, but that's an impressive boost.

Though I suppose, what is better? If it is better edge retention, is it because the Bos process for 420HC takes it to a higher hardness at the cost of toughness, and standard HT values toughness more?

This metallurgy stuff is intriguing.

Yeah the cut test guy, so edge retention. I would assume it is higher hardness but it may not sacrifice toughness much. The Vantage I had was BOS S30V and it wasn't chippy at all ( I dug a hole in locust wood with it).

@conndcj, there is a guy I know selling an A100 for a good price in another forum. $165 shipped, LNIB.

Let me know if interested and I will reach out to him.

From what I have heard, the Bos HT for S30V was the only one that was worth a damn.

Wouldn't mind knowing what voodoo they are working to be so good with HT.

Yes Sir, definitely interested.  Only inquiry is  is it double edged?  That would be verboten here but other than that, yes thank you.

On the Hoback.  The Kwaiback, the Husky or the Paraclete?

I reached out to him, will PM you if it is still available, see what he says.

And the A100s are single edge and swedged.

Wondering about the grind on the Kwaiback. Looks to be flat, but looking to confirm.

Keto warning, don't look.

Buttermilk pie take two. Clearly I screwed up my crimp in one spot. Compared to Thanksgiving I used half the sugar, a bit more vanilla, half pumpkin pie spice and half straight nutmeg, and ran out of buttermilk so used roughly half buttermilk, one quarter heavy cream, one quarter whole milk. Also went slightly heavy on the lemon juice. We'll see tomorrow.

I'm thinking that these scales have to go.

The good news is that I discovered that the pivot screw was loose. Snugged it down and the slight play is gone and the action and centering are improved. Next step: blue loctite, but not until I replace the scales (or decide not to).

We have a Popeyes at work.
They,(or the delivery truck drivers), keep leaving the door open in the middle of the night.
This sets off the alarm, which brings us.
After having searched that building several times to ensure their really wasnt a burglary, I can tell you I will not ever be eating there. I dont give a FUCK how good that sammich is.

Things to ponder:
Why does Popeye’s have a basement?
Why does Popeye’s have a large multiroom basement.
Why does Popeye’s have a large multiroom basement with stainless steel steps, tiled walls, and floor drains when the walk in freezers are upstairs? All it’s really missing are wall shackles and you’ve got a text book Cartel torture chamber.
I’m not even joking.
What is in the grease they use to cook with that causes it to coat everything (walls, ceilings, floors, etc), and makes it impervious to soap or any form of degreaser/cleaning agent known to man?
Why does corporate allow management to hire convicted felons, with mental illnesses, and known to have violent tendencies as managers and general staff positions.?
Why are both corporate AND management completely amazed when the convicted felons with mental illnesses, and violent tendencies become violent & crazy at work?

But mostly the basement...that’s the creepiest part of Popeye’s. The basement.

Day 4 after the pig muck incident.

The wheel wells have been washed 7 times now. The smell is significantly reduced, particularly on the drivers side. But the passenger side was at the end of the time for scrubbing with the brush, so a bit remains. And of course I was out of quarters again after the last wash.

It was supposed to snow last night so I took a risk and pulled the car into the garage. While there was a certain pungency when we opened the garage door this morning, certainly not as bad as it had been.

Snow, or at least a wintry mix was predicted for other parts of the state, but no such luck by the inland sea. If only we had a few inches of snow or a good downpour, that would surely help.

Zdog is taking it all in stride. If anything she seems to like the odor. Probably a good change of pace for her.

Myself, I take comfort in knowing that those little piggies will be in my tummy or someone else's at some point.

Angie is riding with me today, as is custom. It is so reassuring to have a good companion at your side. You never know when there might be cheesecake.

I tried sharpening Mary Anne the other day for the first time, along with another knife. The edge polished up really nicely with minimal effort. But alas, she is as dull as can be now. I am thinking perhaps the stones were too full from their previous work, so I gave them a good scrubbing. At times it felt like they were skating on the blade. If I had gotten notice there were more knives available from the maker, maybe I could have tried to exchange her for a new one and avoided sharpening, but the Maker still hates me. Direct appeals have not worked, so I sent a bribe to his dog to try to get on his good side. Only time will tell if it worked. Even if it doesn't, hes a good pupper and deserves it. In the end, Mary Anne was the one for me anyways. I don't think it could be any other way.

The postal service continues to make the simplest things seem in possible as a number of shipments hang in limbo. Is this the new normal? I know, I know, first world problems. But I want my shiny sticks.

Gingerskanks in the Thread finally commented that he carried a 9 this summer and recently switched to 45. Thank goodness we have helped convert another away from the Glock 40 abyss. It warms my heart.

MaxxII remains a whiny little bitch unfortunately. I think he may be stalking me as well. Who do you contact when the authorities are the ones stalking you? If I disappear, hopefully someone, someone like Machete, finds this entry and seeks justice.

KFB2 was at the meeting this morning and we were texting about whiskey. He gave me the heads up that Sendik's had Buffalo Trace, which I have never seen there. So I hit Sendiks to see if maybe they had BT Cream too. Hard to find and there was a recent release.

Sure enough

Grabbed an extra regular BT too just in case, but looks like backstock is doing fine.
