Unique Duplex Grind - The Kwaiken Duplex has clear lines that are a result of a duplex grind, which is usually reserved for expensive custom knives. Boker Plus has finally offered this unique grind on a production knife and it's a real treat for the many fans of the Kwaiken series.

Yeah I saw that...but is it really worth a damn, or is it just somebody doing half the grind job and saying it’s the new hotness.

I gotta say, aesthetically, I prefer the traditional hollow grind on those knives.

Those grinds drive me bonkers. Some people claim it gives you options like a thinner area up front for delicate work and tougher tasks at the back.

Some are just to show off how well they can grind

I don't take issue with the other one if that is what someone likes, but for me it does nothing aesthetically or functionally and I wouldn't pay more.

This though, I like how it looks and it serves a function.

LOL, I glossed right over that, WTF?

I still don't understand Strider people.

And I'll be very frank, when I see people in my other groups online posting knives that I like, as soon as I see them post a Strider (they usually come in at least pairs, always unused), I am done looking at that person's posts. I question their intelligence and  they are lost to me. I don't even have a grudge against Strider like Benchmade or S30V, the knives and the company just make no sense to me. On any level.

What “tougher tasks” in the back would I be trying to use that grind for? I’m not going to be using a 3.5 inch long Kwaiken blade to baton into antlers, bolts, or firewood? The blade shape dictates it is used for other purposes.

I was really hoping you guys would be able to help me make sense of it.

But it looks like “nightmare grind”, it’s purpose is to be different?

If it makes you feel better, I drank with him in his shop and he had a whole pile of em lying around.
He offered to sell me one, but it wasnt something I was interested in at the time.
I mean he had ALOT of them.

I’m sure he’s sold them all by now.

Or maybe he uses them to dig in the dirt and fight Yeti’s with?
